I am looking to upgrade my drum brakes to 12" disc brakes (MBM), but in order to do so I need to get 15" (or larger) wheels. Now I have 14" Magnums on my 1970 Challenger.

Does anyone sells a set of 15" wheels in the EU?

I just posted a link to a set of 15" rallyes in Ontario Canada. Shipping might be a deal breaker.

Double check and see if stock wheels will fit over 12" disc? :notsure:  It might be close.

Wish we had the deal already done with Year One as they will be promoting their wheels here on our site.  But I think you should consider looking at some of what they have.  It will allow you to run the bigger Disc brakes and not have to worry about clearance.  Here's some of the 17" Rallye wheels they sell.  And I think they will ship to you too.

I asked the guys at moparshop.de (largest European Mopar store) and they told me that MBM 11" discs will fit 14" wheels w/out problems, but if I wanted to go with 12" discs that I need the 15" wheels. Wilwood states the same for their disc brake kits so I believe it is true.

As for Year One - yes, I know about their wheels, I wanted to get a set of 17" Magnums, but the shipping costs are $500 (shipped by air).

Also, Croatian customs and tax laws are crazy: I need to pay at least 10% customs tax on the whole sum (wheels + shipping) and on top of that another 25% VAT!  :pullinghair:

BTW, I spoke to a guy from a local store that sells parts for American cars (I got a few items from them for a really good price) and he told me that the EU has special customs tax for car wheels so it can be in the range of 10-75% depending on the quota. He didn't have more info, but his store doesn't sell US-made wheels because they cannot guarantee the price!  :headbang:

Anyway, I was looking at gunmetal 18" US Mags Ramblers. I really like them, they cost less than Year One Magnums and getting suitable 18" tyres can be done over here w/out problems. 275/40/R17 tyres that YO recommends for the rear wheels are not available over here so I need to get them from abroad. Abroad = $$$. So, the smartest thing would be to get 18" wheels and have zero problems.

That's why I am looking at 15" wheels as an interim solution: getting used wheels from a country in the EU, driving on them for a few years and then shell out for a set of 18" Ramblers. My Challenger is being sandblasted now so I need to spend the $$$ on getting the body back together, painting it, sorting out the brakes and suspension etc than to spend on fancy wheels.

blown motor, your wheels look nice and the price is OK. I will check if I have to pay any kind of tax in case of importing used wheels and I'll get back to you. Could you please check what would be the shipping price to Roselle, NJ 07203? There is a shipping company there that ships by sea and they can deliver to my city. That's the cheapest option I have for shipping.

Sounds like you have a good plan.  Will it make a difference in the brake size if you get 15x6.5 or 15x7?   :notsure:

When you have time it would be great to see some photos of your car!   :bigthumb:

I have absolutely no idea if it makes the difference with the wheel width.

Originally I wanted to mini-tub the rears and put 295 tyres on 15x10" wheels, but my mechanic talked me out of that. The price of doing that over here would be insane, plus I couldn't find a guy whom I could trust 100%.

So, the plan is 245 tyres in front, 275 in the back. 18" Ramblers.

The photo was taken in Germany while we were taking the Challenger from Netherlands where I bough it back down to Croatia. We were the moving circus - at any petrol station we got people coming over, asking questions and taking pictures.

I saw 2 sets for sale this morning also, 1 set of 15" Magnums and one set of steel wheels, looking for that ad now also, forgot where I saw it.

Can't find that ad, he must have sold them and removed it. But here is another one, 15" Rallye's with new BF Goodrich tires.

Fantastic looking Challenger!!!!   :lookatthat:   That would draw a crowd at any gas station here so I bet it was a huge attraction over there!   :croatia:  Thanks for the photo!  And good luck with the new wheels and brakes.  Let us know how it goes.  :slapme5:

Thanks for the links! I was looking at some Swedish sites for used wheels, but it's like reading Klingon to me.

Is it usual that the prices are so high in Sweden? I mean, whoaaaa... For 9500 kronas I can get a set of brand new Wheel Vintiques Rallyes from Germany and still have almost 280 euros to spare.

If you read the FB buy/sell groups I think you can translate on the fly, I can do that with languages that are foreign to me.
Yeah, we have really hi prices here, compared to the US. We do have a customs fee, high shipping cost and a 25% sales tax.
I buy almost all my stuff in the US, ship in containers, cheaper shipping, but it takes 2-3 months to get the stuff.
Do you have a link to that German place, maybe I should get my wheels there?

Yeah, it's about the same here. Customs tax is 10% and then 25% VAT on top of that.

I'll be getting stuff from the US same as you: shipping in containers. Good thing is that I live on the seaside and my city is the largest Croatian sea port so the containers arrive here directly, no need for extra shipping.

German store is moparshop.de - check out the Rallyes: http://store.moparshop.de/en/Products/Wheels-Tires/Wheel-15x8-Ralley.html

I bought a lot of stuff from them (floor pans, water pump, US Car Tools chassis stiffening kit etc). It was about the same price as if I had it shipped from the US, paid shipping and local taxes.

and a 25% sales tax.

Don't forget the flexible customs tax for non-made-in-EU wheels: 10-75% depending on the import quota!  :deadhorse:

The wheels are not mine. I just posted a link to an ad I found. I can try to find out a cost if you still want me to.
