Anyone have one of these rocker molding clips? There is one per side and I am missing one.

Thanks!

Where do they use that clip ? Is it at the front of the trim on the fender ? :clueless:

Yes, front of the trim. Stud goes through fender into the fender well. I would assume there aren't a lot of these lying around but would like to find one just to ensure originality.

I wonder if it's an "early" vs "late" thing ? I've seen ones with just a simple screw holding them on at both ends.

avatar_Headjam hopefully you've found one by now?  I need a set as well.  Did you happen to take any measurements?

Thank You
M.

Headjam

M No, I've never found a second one. Sorry, no measurements but I could always remove the one I have. It's currently installed on my car.

I will say I'm not 100% sure that these rocker molding clips are original for a 1970 Challenger. My rocker moldings were on the car when I bought it in the late 70's. There is no call-out on my Broadcast Sheet for them so they must have been added by the original owner.  :dunno:

Thank you for the offer but please don't go to the trouble.  IF I come across any extra I'll be happy to share.  The one you have pictured looks correct based on NOS moulding/clips I've seen on various web pages.  The attached image is from an NOS molding set (not mine) that included the clips shown below.

1 Are these clips for sale? If so, how much are they?

mtull, I just received a set of rocker moulding trim hardware. It consisted of 14 of the off white clips with pins. The original rocker trim was missing on the car when I bought it, so I have no idea what was used. I have also had the rear quarter panels replaced.

My question is, does the front fender use a trim clip that is shown in the picture? I assumed it used the same as the ones in the rocker panel. I am supposed to go next week and work on placing the holes in the hood for the DODGE letters and the Six Pack emblems. I do not want to put holes in the quarter panel or front fenders for the off white clips if they are not correct. My second problem will be if I need the front fender clip, where will I be able to find two of them

As usual, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is the metal clips were used on the front fenders, the plastic clips were used on the rockers and a screw was used at the end of the trim just in front of the rear wheel well.  My assumption is the aftermarket venders want you to use one of the aforementioned plastic clips on the front fender rather than the original one's pictured above.

Did your rocker moldings come with any instructions (just curious)?  I'm also curious to know if anyone has feedback on the aftermarket clips and how well they hold the molding in place?

I don't believe the metal clips were unique to E-Body cars however we would need some of our more experienced forum members to validate that assertion.

Do you need measurements on the hole locations and size?  I haven't looked around to see if this question has been previously discussed.

Yes, if that's not asking too much. The original rocker panel already has the holes in them, but the fenders and quarters were replaced. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on the rocker panel trim which is on back order at Classic Industries.

Not a problem.  avatar_Headjam are you OK if I post hole locations on your thread or do you feel it would better for me to start a new thread?  I could argue that the topic of hole locations starts to take your thread away from it's original purpose.
