Okay I've seen posts about this in the past & today I got to deal with it... The new reproduction oil dipstick tube is considerably larger O/D than the original... But Original unbroken dipstick tubes are getting hard to find soooo....

First I taper the end that goes into the block, a belt sander is mighty handy for that step...

Next I use the clamp from a tube flaring tool to slightly squeeze the diameter of the tube...

First picture with calipers is the diameter of the tube where I didn't squeeze it..

And the second picture with calipers is after squeezing, .011 smaller...

But still a tight fit, I use a 3/8" wrench & a hammer to tap the tube into the block...

Awesome tip, I'm going to try that next time.  :worship:

I usually heat them up glowing red and pound away..(I mean tap) :D

Good work around! What about a fractional drill bit that's a couple thou under the measured tube?   :dunno:

Nice! For future ref I made a tool to remove a broken/stuck tube end.. Its a (5/16? I cant remember) bolt with the head turned down to clearance the thru hole and thin it slips in the stuck tube from below.
