Good question.  It's our forum so we can do whatever we want.  Keep this in mind.  From what I've seen of forums is if they have a lot of "categories" with only a few posts the users think the forum is small or not busy.  If they see a few "categories" with a lot of posts then users think it's big and busy.  And nothing draws a crowd, like a crowd.  I'll set it up however everyone wants, but I would suggest as few of categories as possible to make it work.  Or we could use good titles and "tags" to make it super easy to search.

I agree. as long as folks are creating separate item posts to classify it and use tags for keyword searches, there should be no need to create multiple categories. although it might be easier for some folks to find based on category. I'm certainly open to options, as long as everything isn't lumped into one big post (like this one is becoming. makes it impossible to find anything useful when you need it)
