Bought an engine hoist and engine stand today from a friend.
Older models but seem stout.
$200 seems like a good deal , maybe work on my $200 413/727

That engine stand is heavy duty, four caster wheels.

I sold an old style unit that I bought that was a rental when I was installing an engine in the 1970's. No comparison to new units now; super heavy duty!  :) Nothing is made the way it used to be!

Those look to be good units. The 4 wheels and little gusset on the engine stand are good features. I like removable legs on a hoist for storage but that unit should handle a big block no problem. Just be wary of the hydraulic leaking down on it the first time or 2 you use it.

Pretty sure I have the identical hoist to that first one, got it from Harbor Freight back in the 90s, it's heavy duty, I think 1.5 ton rating IIRC. Nice find should serve you well.

That wide footprint looks awesome, especially for lifting the front end to install an engine/trans/k-frame assembly from below. The HF unit I have was able to do it as well but being long & narrower it required either someone standing on the back or some cinder blocks for ballast. Not ideal but got the job done.
