You're cookies have expired.  Use the back door /sitebypass after the coming soon page to get back in.  Then you can use the link or click on the "Buying Your First E-Body" photo.

The link takes me to the "coming soon" web page.

:clapping: Informative article for anyone looking to verify authenticity of an E-Body. I think this will come in really handy for long-time loyalists of other brands who are finding themselves to be prospective E-Body buyers- they'll walk away with a deeper understanding of 'why' those Mopar guys crawl all over cars before they buy them & why they're so crazy about their numbers!

Great use of images, Cody.

Wow great write up. I have no doubt that took a long time to make. Great job!  :bigthumb:

This is fantastic, great info and love the pics to help!!!

Couple of things I noticed:
- In the Branded titles paragraph it says "Insurance companies might charge extra to insurance Branded Title vehicles", change to "insure"
- Do you want to add a step in the titles section to check with your state's DMV to make sure the car is not stolen?
- Pg 3 last paragraph - "There has been confirm instances where..."
- Pg 4 Engine paragraph "Recall, if you will, that the Body Numbers (Cowl and Radiator) have the first two characters reversed (E0 vs. 0E)?  Well, they are not reserved on the Engine and Transmission."
- Pg 4 last paragraph - "If you have a concern about the block possible being re-stamped..."
- Photo 17 of the buildsheet is for a '70 Charger RT.  Not sure if you care, but thought it may be brought up since this is an e-body forum.
- After photo 19, do you want to add something around describing again the VIN matching and the build date on the door mylar?
- Also, do you want to talk about the build date vs the SPD?

Great eye and some good catches!   :thankyou:  Responded in Red below:

- In the Branded titles paragraph it says "Insurance companies might charge extra to insurance Branded Title vehicles", change to "insure" (FIXED!)
- Do you want to add a step in the titles section to check with your state's DMV to make sure the car is not stolen? Great suggestion!  DONE
- Pg 3 last paragraph - "There has been confirm instances where..." FIXED
- Pg 4 Engine paragraph "Recall, if you will, that the Body Numbers (Cowl and Radiator) have the first two characters reversed (E0 vs. 0E)?  Well, they are not reserved on the Engine and Transmission." FIXED
- Pg 4 last paragraph - "If you have a concern about the block possible being re-stamped..." FIXED
- Photo 17 of the buildsheet is for a '70 Charger RT.  Not sure if you care, but thought it may be brought up since this is an e-body forum. Good catch.  Was wondering if anyone would notice that.  lol  That sheet was the best clean build sheet I had so that's why I used it.  Pretty cool V code Charger too!  Don't know where the car is though, just found the sheet in some seats.
- After photo 19, do you want to add something around describing again the VIN matching and the build date on the door mylar?  Good suggestion.  Added it to it!
- Also, do you want to talk about the build date vs the SPD? Going to leave that for the finer details of fender tags (future article), but thank you for the reminder

Alright, I changed the Build Sheet to an E-Body.  You are right.  Needs to be an E-Body.   :slapme5:

I have nothing against Charger's obviously, but thought it should be consistent with E-bodies.  BTW, I use to be a teacher so catching grammar mistakes is a gift, or a curse, depending on how you look at it.   :looney:

Between Dan and I, we will certainly have good grammar on this site . . . I have the same curse, got it from my mother.   ::)

I always thought there was 11 places. The VIN number can be found typed on the warranty info card included in the owners manual package found in the glove box :alan2cents:   just sayin....

Yup, you're correct.  A lot of the time it's just hand written on the card.
