When a BH 70 was ordered with a J54 sport hood did the hood still come with hold down pins?
Any difference in 71?

Hood pins would have been a separate option, not even sure if they were available on a BH, but I don't see why not.... :dunno:

I just picked up a 1971 sport hood that did NOT have hood pin holes.

1970 & 1971
J45 "hood pins" were an OPTION on BH & BP
J54 "sport hood" was an OPTION on BH & BP

you could have either, neither or both after some date in late-October/November 1969

:iagree:  only stipulation, NOT available on a flat hood (unless dealer installed I guess).

That must have been rescinded at some point, I have a flat 1971 only, Barracuda hood from the factory with the factory holes, ten in all for hood pins.  I'll post some pictures in a bit.

Wow!  A flat hood with pins.  How cool is that!
So that hood would have just been a J45 code on the tag alone.  No denotation to a hood.
That is pretty cool.  I really like that.

Did you say ten 71  hoods with pins?  Or one hood out of ten?

I was referring to the amount of holes required for the hood pins, two "large" ones for the actual hood pins themselves, and eight small holes, four around each hood pin hole, for the eight screws to mount the circular metal covers.

Also note the three holes in front for the PLYMOUTH nameplate, indicating that this particular hood is for a 1971 only Barracuda.

That sure can't be very common.
Is the car that the flat hood came off of already crushed and gone?

It was an original 318 car, coded for hood pins. Buddy of mine got the hood, which I eventually ended up with. Car was in Utah, fate,..... unknown. May still exist, I don't know.
