Master cylinder drum brake 70 challenger RT

This is non power master cylinder does any one know if a gasket is required between the face of the master cylinder and the plate on the end of the pedal linkage I don't remember seeing one but it's been 5 years since I removed it

To me from a logical standpoint a gasket would make no difference because the middle area is still open to the hole in the plate that goes to the boot.
