Trying to find a brake master cylinder in Australia for my 70 RT Challenger. Disk front, drum rear.

They are available but at a fairly hefty price.

I found the one in the photo attached on Australian ebay for a decent price.
Its description is "Cast Master cylinder Mopar 73-78 1-1/8' bore 1/2' & 9/16".

It looks correct to me but its 73-78 date range implies it will not fit. Is a 73/74 Challenger master cylinder different to earlier Challengers?

Can anyone offer advice if the one pictured would fit?

Yes it will fit & work well
The correct one will be rounded at the front away from firewall , but I spent 5 weeks looking for the right one anywhere & having 5 supposedly correct ones from all over the US , none were right , I cannot find one anywhere at any price .

Great, thanks for the heads up.
I am not worried about authenticity, so long as the bolt pattern fits and it functions.
It must be annoying trying to get 100% correct for authentic restorations and original/survivor cars. If you cant find one in the US I'll have no hope in Australia!  :australia:

This was the other option at more than twice the price.

That's a 4 wheel drum master cylinder.
