It looks like the Moog lower control arm bushing k 791 is way out of spec. I have ordered a couple of bushings from Rock auto and one was to loose on the ID for the pivot pin, it would just slide in. The one I measured was a couple of thousands of an inch off. Rock auto warranted it, sent another one and same problem, so requested another replacement and will see what I get. Meanwhile I went to Summit to purchase one and saw reviews that had the same problem. May have to go back to the poly bushings.

I had a similar issue a few years ago   :wrenching:

I've come across one with that issue.

I just got two and they were fine.
Not sure how they are manufactured, but how are some fine and some not?

I'm running into the same problem with their rear shackle bushings . Much smaller then the originals.

Not sure why some are off. Could be production tolerance. What i have noticed is the correct bushing has this number stenciled on the shell 7211206. The ones that were too loose had different numbers. You can go to Rock auto and see a picture with the correct number but that's not what they ship.

If your referring to the front spring eye bushings they have been listed wrong forever...  There are two sizes, the big ones (2") are listed as 440 when in fact the 440 uses the small bushing (1.5") & most everything else uses the big bushing...

Since I have a lathe I ended up knurling the pins.

I ordered my parts from summit and all of the front suspension bushing were off.  some I corrected, the remainder I reordered until they fell in spec then returned the rest.    They were made in different countries, but I don't think there was a correlation with good parts and where they were made.

I guess moog doesn't own a pair of digital calipers  :dunno:

I think he means the rear shackle bushings  They always seem to be too small :alan2cents:

They are supposed to be slightly small, when compressed from the sides they get bigger in diameter...

That's kinda what I figured when I install them....as long as they're not A Body ones :alan2cents:

Yes I was talking about the rear spring shackle bushings. They fit the frame and shackle but the outside edge where it ends on the frame is considerably smaller.

@mopar jack thanks for bringing this up....I am having the same problem with the K 791 front Bushings. I have had to buy 4 some from amazon, some from roseville and out of the 4, 2 are completely wrong. The Pin is just sliding in.....I thought it was me??? I asked some Mopar friends and they said that it should not slide in. Anyhow I am glad you brought this up cause I wasn't sure if I was missing something. I also noticed the rubber around one of the bushings is cracked......looks like crappy manufacturing.

It's likely MooG had a run of these bad ones and never knew as they went out the door. Hopefully they were made aware of the issue and corrected it for future runs... Likely their supplier supplied the wrong diameter tubing and nobody thought to check. :looney:

K 791 - Lower control arm bushings : I just called Moog and was informed that they know of this problem. They changed suppliers in Late January and realized a change was made to the part. According to Moog Customer Service they have notified suppliers of the problem. They are re-engineering K791's but no ETA. Funny, my suppliers didn't say anything!

So I asked if Moog was going to notify suppliers or put out a recall notice cause this is kinda a critical part. No response other than .......were working on it
