This Master Cylinder I have is very close looking like that to an original 426 Hemi Master Cylinder.

What I recall  is that this one was too tall and then the hood underside frame hits when you try to shut the hood.

So my questions:

Can this be modified by shaving/machining down the deck height to be the same height as an OEM was?

The over spring clamp? Do I re drill new holes lower and use the same as before?

Who knows more on this subject or has done it before?

28868 what vehicles are these typically found on?

That's an aftermarket MC from Raybestos or NAPA United.  It's copied from the B body MC for 68-69 Hemi and C body 69-70 made by Bendix with casting number 2225621.
I don't know if it will fit without interference with an E body, I believe I've seen them used for that so probably will.  I wouldn't cut it down, I'm not sure how you'd make the bale wire work.
If it doesn't fit, use the aftermarket MC for 71-74 E body with disc.  It's not as tall.

I currently have the snub nose type working well. Height appears to be less.

What I'm trying to do is take this one and modify it.

I bet it's been done before.

Easier to throw the Power Booster in the garbage.

:unbelievable:

I have the OEM Hemi Bendix Brake booster.

Not many choices, based on valve cover height I'm at.

I truly believe this can, or has been done, modified. to fit without interference.
