Moser Canada ? UPDATE !

So my customer wants a Dana 60 in his resto-mod build. When him and I were talking, I said it would cost a small fortune to ship it up from the States ....then he tells me about Moser Engineering Canada ?   I'm like really ? Never knew that....Look here's their website he says https://mosercanada.com/

So today I decide to call them using the 800 number on their site....guy answers "Performance Ceplus" ....oh sorry, I though I was calling Moser Canada...oh yea yea that's us...

Long story short....The guy takes all my rear end details...then tells me he'll have to call Moser and get a price....so I ask Moser USA ? yes So it ships from the States ? yes  Says he'll get back to me later today or tomorrow with a quote 

So I hang up the phone and start thinking to myself....why the heck am I'm now including a third party ? So I call Moser in the States....the guy says he's never heard of Moser Canada but they drop ship for performance shops all the time ????  So I ask, there's no problem, you guys ship here and can order direct ? Says yup, no problem...takes my order, says it will ship Monday/Tuesday 

What a scam....

Wow you would think they would be very interested in stopping their name being used like that?
When I got my Dana I got it shipped to Kuhn's storage in Buffalo then drove over and got it myself.

As a courtesy, I called back and told the young fella that answered to phone that I simply wanted to cancel my order with them.....about three minutes later his "boss" calls  me to say that he called Moser only to find out that I just ordered a rear end from them..What the heck ? he says...so I just said thank you for your time, but I don't need their help ordering parts....

If they are a legit reseller, they may have given you a better price unless you set yourself up a s a dealer...just a thought.  I know I used to do that once upon a time when I was a reseller

Passon has an official Canadian dealer for his stuff in Vancouver too. Same thing, he just adds his cut, better to order from Passon directly.

Can't say enough good things about Moser USA  I ordered this custom built Dana 60 rear end with in-board spring perches etc... on MARCH 16th 2023, and here it is in my shop in Canada....only eight days later

Yes, that's great, old fashioned service. Good to hear and I hope they stay in business for decades to come.
Frankly when I hear nothing but excuses covering up laziness I don't feel bad if I hear of the place going under.

What was the apples to apples price comparison?  Most of those companies have dealer networks specifically to avoid dealing with direct orders, so it's not uncommon for direct buys to be more expensive.  Plus dealers will sometimes do sales that aren't factory direct.
