Husk Challenger

Hi guys

I have a leak on my steering gear at the input shaft.
I'd like to fix it and i am looking for the good seals on Rockauto.
I would like also to change the seals of the sector shaft to prevent a future leak

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1973,challenger,5.6l+340cid+v8,1078680,steering

I am totally lost...

I think i may order a seal kit for the steering pump, but i have to check what type i have.

Any idea?

Thank you

I have a big leak there too. I am going to use the opportunity to upgrade to a firm feel stage 3 steering box. I don't want to mess with changing the seals, and the upgrade will make me want to drive it more.

That was my first idea, but i have other stuff to fix first like my leaf springs....so i have to wait for the FF stage 3  :headbang:

The FF stage 3 is really good.

2 to 5 weeks lead time is likely.
Unless they're in stock and you buy out right without a core.

I shipped 2 cores using Uship.com and that helped saye a little on the total cost.

Hey @Topcat,

On their website, the price is 399$ for stage 3. Is it the price whith your own core included?

AT205 completely stop my power steering pump leak.
It used to completely drain empty overnight.
After over two months , not a drop has leaked out.
There s a thread on here called " aargh oil leak " about this product.

I think so but it's been a while so I don't know for sure.

$399 is using your core, otherwise they add a core charger. I would highly recommend taking this opportunity to have yours rebuilt with the FF stage III.  It makes a big difference!

@73440
Thanks for the information. I have already heard about this kind of product but i have never gived a try.
If you have good result maybe it s time to test it. It could be a solution while saving money for a rebuild by FF

Thanks Topcat!

I had already bought a remanufactured pump to replace the leaking one, but found out that pulleys are not an easy source.
Then @cudabob496 wrote about this AT-205 reseal and I put the  replacement pump work on hold as it is not leaking now.
Want to do the FF stage 3 also.

@73440

I've just received the AT-205. May you tell me what quantity am i supposed to add in my steering pump?
There is nothing about this in the package

Thanks

@Husk Challenger , I just measured, I used three (3) oz , just under 1/2 of the bottle in mine.
Mine would totally drain out overnight , and now it has not leaked a drop since using the AT-205.
Good luck with yours.

Thanks a lot.

I hope it will work for me to...  :fingerscrossed:

What were your results with the AT205?

Burdar

The seal is readily available from a local parts store(in the US that is)  All you have to do is pull off the steering coupler, run a small screw into the seal and pull it out.  The new one will tap right into place.
