Quiet is the hard part to find in one of those... most I've heard are pretty noisy.   Someone was just looking for one of those.

Don't know yet, but I've got a feeling I'm gonna need one of these when I get my 'Cuda on the road. I didn't see a price.  Anybody know what it costs?

So how big does your cam get to be before you need one of these?
How do you know if you need one?

Upper teens is good.  12" of vacuum seems to the numbers that you want to stay above.  This guy would know for sure...

I've had him build a few boosters and he's very helpful.  He's about 15 minutes from me if anyone needs help with anything.

I had a vacuum pump in my '71 Challenger with a 408 stroker that only pulled 9" of vacuum.  The good news was the vacuum pump was so loud I couldn't hear the fuel pump!   :drunk:

I would suggest anyone needing one of these seriously consider hydraulic booster.

We all have hydraulic brakes, since about 1939.
I think frazz meant to say Hydraulic booster.

That's a tech article I'd like to see.
I haven't seen one of those on an E body yet.

Yes, sorry for the typo I corrected it.  This is the set up I was referring to.... http://www.hydratechbraking.com/Mopar_E_Body.html

Oh it's only $589 bucks:
http://www.mpbrakes.com/accessories/vacuum-pump-kits/electric-vacuum-pump-kit-ac9001k

and has a bunch of caveots.

Don't mount near heat
Don't mount where any water can splash on it
But it should last longer than your car.

Might want to call Dr. Diff. He sells the pumps too. He suggested to mount it in the upper fender well when I spoke to him last.

I may have to go this direction but would like to mount it in the engine bay somewhere and not worry about longevity issues.
