Rear Drum Brake Detail Question

70 Challenger - Does anyone know if these were plated, painted, or natural?

In my opinion, they were natural bare steel. I have never come across ones that weren't covered in rust, or ones showing any signs of a plating.

  all the ones I've seen are bare metal.  I use a wire wheel to clean mine and re-installed.
