I guess the pictures didn't show up on my previous post...
So let's try this.

Hard to tell but now there are 3 different blacks... Suede Black Dash Frame, Sem Ultra Trim Satin Black on the bezel where it was originally chrome, and Krylon Fusion, textured satin black on the face where it used to be silver. 3 slightly different shades of black, different textures and different sheens... Poor lighting today, heavy clouds and raining so pretty dark on my patio. Phone flash didn't help much.

Still need to add the silver stripe above the cluster to tie the left and right sides together...
Some silver on the raised circles around the Flasher, Lights and Wiper switch holes too. I have a silver paint pen that might be good for those, and the Trip reset hole depending what function/switch I end up putting there...

Masking off that little fish was a challenge but it worked out. The Script is easily removed and replaced after painting. Was surprised to see copper under the chrome when sanding to rough up the chrome before primer.
I would expect it for a triple chromed bumper but chromed plastic??? I had no idea... "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

Very nice work blending all the surfaces. Not an easy task let alone having the "eye" for it.

Been a while... but I was able to make a little more progress on the 69 Barracuda project this week.
1. Reverse Lamps installed
2. Tail Lamps installed
3. Deck Lid Finish Panel installed - still need to blackout the area of the taillight housings adjacent to the black of the trim panel. They come all chrome.

The Reverse Lamp Bezels and Taillight assemblies are from PG Classics, nice pieces.
I got the Trim Panel from Year One.
Looks very nice out of the box but man is it thin and soft... fit is just so so... which is kind of typical.

There are always some challenges but they are all in and good to go. May want to try for a little better alignment but not sure if it would be worth the effort to make all the lines just right. Tough to do after body and paint are all done...

Little by little, no matter how little, it all needs to be done.

@cudaragtop I absolutely LOVE this build - one of my all time favorite cars...if you have any interest in selling ever let me know.

Beautiful work, congrats on the progress

Thanks! Giving it to my son when it's finished. Think it will be 2025.
Ironically, I bought it thinking it would be a 1 year project and would give it to him for HS senior year.
Lots of scope creep on this one. Snowballed into way more than originally planned. "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
Turns out it will he'll get it after he graduates from the UW. He's on the hook for half of the build cost... He has contributed along the way working part time while in school.

Flat black applied to the taillight housings.
After test spraying several different flat black rattle cans I have, I settled on Rust-Oleum Flat Black Paint & Primer in one, as the closest match to the tail panel trim black.
Happy with the results.
Only a couple thousand more things left to do... ;-)

Love it!  A little skin in the game is awesome!  Would love to see a full shot of the car - paint is beautiful.

We just got our son his 1st car - he painted addresses on curbs for months to earn money and sold his beloved electric motorcycle in order to cover the cost difference of what we were willing to buy vs. what he wanted

Some pics of the paint.

Late Model Challenger Fuel Doors.

Chrome Fuel Door

Black Fuel Door

Shot of the deck lid. love the reflection of the trees. Too bad it was cloudy.

Loaded up, headed home.

Video walk around after arriving back at home.

One more reflection shot. My son is the one with the Mariners Baseball Cap and hands in his pockets.
The car is loaded on the trailer and I noticed the reflection and had to snap a pic.

#207
I like the Chrome Fuel Door but my son likes the Black, so Black it is.
Looks gray with all the shop lights reflecting off it.

Hard color to photograph in my garage.

Looks like this from just a couple inches away. Top edge of the RR quarter panel.
Lots of different color pearls in there. Really sparkles in the sun, almost looks black in low light.
Please pardon the dog hair... looks like a scratch but it's just a dog hair, we get those everywhere.

Our Riley girl. She'll be 10 months old tomorrow.
Looking so peaceful here, taking a break from being a little tornado.

So, I was still trying to make Year One 17x8 Mopar Rallye wheels with 245/45-17 tires, fit the front of our 69 Fastback which led me to 73 C-Body Rotors instead of the standard 11.75" rotors. 73 C-Body rotors are .270" shorter when laying flat next to a standard 11.75", that is, the wheel mounting surface gives a .270" narrower track on each side.
That being the case, I was able to get a pair of adapters from Cass (Doctor Diff) that lets you run the 73 C-Body rotor on a 73 up A/B/E/F disc spindle using the bigger SET16 C-Body outer bearing with Doctor Diff's adapters. Together with the 73C rotor, I had the wheel mounting surface machined to remove ~ .300" for a total .570" improvement on backspace...

The Caliper brackets needed to be sanded down a little and then a little friction material removed from one of the pad for the 1.25" thick rotor to fit...
But it can be done.

Was test fit a success? Yes and No. The tires now clear the lower front fender when turning lock to lock. Yay!
But... Still looks like the tire will rub at the top of the wheel opening when I lower the torsion bar tension to normal ride height.
Sitting a little high to prevent rubbing...

Really had hoped .570" more Backspace would be enough... not quite.

So next options are: 1)Trim the fenders, 2) change wheels or 3) smaller tires.
3 it is for now... Smaller tires for  the quick easy fix but not the final...
I'm thinking 215/50-17 (25.46" tall), will be safe, it's 1.19" narrower and about .22" shorter than the 245/45-17 (25.68" tall), tire until we rework the fenders or switch to different wheels with more backspace... but time to move on for now.

Might need to swap the B-Body calipers out for E-Body calipers for clearance...
Going to try swapping spindles side to side and calipers from rear mount to front mount first.
Had them to the rear when I had the stock early sway bar tab locations on stock LCA. Now with QA1 LCA and sway bar, I may be able to run front mount calipers.

Then maybe work on my DIY cold air intake some more...

My DIY CAI so far...
This is about version 4 or 5 on the airbox. Started out as just maybe a shield... just kept tweaking and adjusting until it became a sealed box. no weird curves or compound angles. all straight edges and uniform angles.

The Airbox sit directly behind this hole in the USCT core support.

Should get some really good air pressure.

May or may not make a plexi window in the lid... we'll see after the box is done.
ABS plastic with wrinkle finish, going to black wrinkle finish the Air Tube too.

Have the cardboard model laid out on top of my ABS. Just need to cut, bend, glue...
Should be interesting since it's another chapter of learn as I go.
