First, let me say I LOVE this car - had a '69 Formula S 340 4spd for my first car - one of my favorites for sure and I love this build.

I am not a fan of the wide front tires on the vintage muscle cars, however.  They just never look right to me unless it is set up super aggressively for autocross.  I would just run the smaller tire and call it good, but that's just me

Good luck!
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....

More progress on my DIY CAI

A mishmash of accumulated parts that is coming together pretty well. Started with cardboard. Several models or versions of shields first but in the end made an Airbox for a True CAI.  Still need to design and make the lid. I'll mount it to the core support and inner fender.   Pictures are in reverse order working backwards...  There is a large opening I made in the core support that will connect to the Airbox. The hole is directly behind the grill.  Should get plenty of airflow. I'll make a shield to go in front of the filter inside the airbox to keep debris and rain or road spray going directly into the filter. The Filter is about 6"x7"  The Airbox is about 10-1/2"x 8-3/8" at the top and tapers in on the fender side. Lots of trial and error to get it to fit the filter and still fit in the space where the battery would have been.  Battery will be in the trunk. Was always the plan. The box will have a drain out the bottom directly over where the battery tray drain is.  The Aluminum Tube will be Wrinkle Black when finished.  Still in Mockup phase...

Made a plastic sheet bender to make the bends.
Used a Dremel to cut the 1/8" thick ABS sheet.
Used a Heat gun to touch up some of the bends.

Takes a bit of guesswork, Directions not included... a couple times a re-bend was needed.
Shown with duct tape holding it together but will get glued and screwed...
