first of all, buying this Cuda was not planned but it looked like nobody in Florida wanted it ....

Back in fall 2015 and was killing time on a windy, rainy and cold sunday on the little isalnd of Saint-Pierre ( near Newfoundland). I was not looking for something particular but I missed my 71 Barracuda sold 6 monthes earlier.
I also sold a 67 mustang coupe I had in my garage so I had a good load of money waiting for something unexpected !!

Craigslist in California and Georgia ( states where I have friends) leads to nothing interesting. so I tried CG Florida and found the ad for this Cuda.

sold as a project with a running 440 instead of the original 383HP.

I tried to call the seller at least 20 times, but maybe he didn't want to answer an international call !! Isent 10 emails and no answer ...  Bad times for me !! at least I liked to have details about the car !! but nope !

a week later, I tried again and still no answers !!

so I thought asking a friend of mine in Atlanta to call the seller in order to get details !  still no answers ....

so I moved to other cars for sale where I received details, I was ready to buy 2 mustang project cars when I got an answer by mail from the Cuda seller with lots of details,  then no more contacts ....  weird

it stopped me from buying the mustangs and started sending more messages to the seller !! and I got answers every 3 or 4 days. I thought the seller was dealing local !! and he was !!
one day, I received a copy of the buildsheet and it showed the car was a real sleeper : big block, benchseat, 3 auto on the column, big drum brakes, steel wheels, "Hemi" suspension !! nice enough to be bought by me !!

then no more emails !!  so back to the phone calls but no answers ...... :crying: :dunno: :tired:

a sunday evening, 3 weeks after later the ad re-appeared on CG, with a rebate of $500 ..... I took my chance and offered him to buy it at the original price and the seller agreed !! then I had to have him aggreed to be paid by bank transfer, but it is another story

That's an interesting story on buying a car. Car looks pretty nice  and solid. Can't go wrong with a stang or cuda them Chevy cats talk so much crap about Mopars and Ford's I had to get one to prove them wrong.

make it run !!  drive it, have a friend repair rusted areas: it won't be a complete restoration as I do not want to spend lots of money, maybe a coat of white so it looks good and drive it !!

cuda needs metal work on quarters, floors, truk floor, door jambs and roof sides at least to be considered solid to me
