It doesn't look like much progress but hundreds of spot welds to drill out to remove trunk pan. Quarters and extensions showed up so I just need to keep at it.

70 Road runners have to be one of the most best looking muscle cars ever!!!  Nice progress.

Trunk floor is out, just needs some clean up and I can start fitting the new one.

Rails are solid but I found what looks like tow hook damage and wheel well a bit caved in on passenger side but both easily fixed.

Good luck with the resto! I love 70s and restored my 70 GTX years ago. Lots of work but so worth it

First test fit of trunk pan, dropped right in and looks good, maybe some minor tightening up of the edges.

Comparing the AMD panel to some originals I found four obvious differences with the strengthening ribs. A little time with a propane torch, hammers and dolly's and a body file and all fixed.

I remember drilling out all spot welds on my '70 'Cuda to remove the exact same panels plus the dutchman panel.  I lost track of how many spot weld drill bits I went through.  I thought I'd never finish.  Seemed like there were millions of spot welds!

Then more drilling of holes in the new panel.

Haven't updated in a while but still making slow progress. Working on patching lower rear window corners which are commonly rusted on these cars and got the extensions welded in.

I've been struggling getting the drivers quarter panel to fit correctly but finally got it. I had to massage some areas and move the front edge back 1/8" to get the door gap. Now just need to fit the passenger side which should go quicker now that I know where it needs fitting.
