That looks exquisite!  Looks like you might have this project done before Christmas and someone might find a newly decorated AAR under the tree.
I'm looking forward to seeing it in person this coming summer.   I wonder if it will have that new car smell too?
Bravo and carry on!

No fancy hoists or carts here...

In order to lift the front end like that, what are your lifting points? Thanks!

I prefer a much simpler approach....there's two holes in the front frame just ahead of the K Frame bolt holes. I use two heavy duty tie down straps hooked to the engine hoist right where you see it in the picture. The entire grill, bumper etc...remains in place, no need to make and brackets etc...

Can't visualize this, got any other pics?

anlauto

@Katfish I can't find a good picture of the frame rail holes I use, but they are just in front of the K Frame bolt holes. I just use heavy duty straps hooked in these holes and lift up the front of the car...

A better picture of the hole, the actual strap I use and how it hooks in. I've used this set-up dozens of times...no issues...

Thx! That really helps, I like the simplicity of not having to build a special brace.
Appreciate all the extra pics and details.

Mr Lee

I just read through all 14 pages of this thread with amazement.   I am super impressed.  The work is beautiful but even more so, how you can do multiple cars at once and keep everything organized in just an average sized garage and basement?!  Super impressive.  I've had the contents of 4 challengers in my basement, one car garage and shed before.  It takes a LOT of space.  Doing what you do would NOT work without being super organized and neat.  I always love to see what's in people garages and I'm sure yours would be very cool.  Especially cause its all mopar!   Very cool that you can make money doing what you love too.   Rock on!

Is that FF4 or EF8?

I was thinking the same thing, same light and angle, not even remotely close.  Looks closer to F8 green to me.  Didn't you do a spray out?  I find we have to sometimes swing around todays color formulas to match original.  That looks like PPG FF4 green in DBC base/clear correct?  I went through that once with that exact paint, yep, had to swing it around a little.  I think we had to kill the green with a tiny bit of red and lighten it up a few shades by adding pale yellow.

We're going through that right now with the PPG rep on the orange paint for Ross's 71 shaker Cuda.

Couple other things I was curious about, why use a $40 Hayden fan clutch or the $35 Auto Zone later "small mouth" calipers? :dunno:  I can only guess it's because the customer got a case of the cheeps to either find or restore the original parts.  I'm sure you know this, Tony at Tony's Parts made some outstanding MOPAR style fan clutches for a pretty fair price, I'm guilty of using them.

I'm sure it wasn't you, good thing is, the customer can change those parts fairly easily down the road when he can afford it. :tool:

Cuda Cody

There's something special about a 4 speed e-body!

F4 and F8 are so beautiful when freshly done.  A buddy is getting ready to do his now. Alan, is that PPG? Love the way it looks.  Hemicuda, could you share your paint mix so we can do a spray out? Thanks! I'm excited to help my buddy with his.

To answer your question Cody...YES it is a PPG product, I had several spray outs done and the mix was tweaked a bit. I do have the mix code here, but you'll never hear me say that it's 100% correct. It is what it is, it was more depth and beauty then the original 49 year old paint...and looks fantastic in my opinion. :alan2cents:
