The one-sided Alan clown show marches on...... time to step into this circle jerk and set the record straight, thanks @screamingdriver and @1_WILD_RT and many others for not drinking the kool-aid.

The same shop that painted this car, painted my 70 Barracuda and the work they did was absolutely terrible quality, even worse Alan accepted it as good enough. This was not a budget issue, I already far exceeded my 65 grand estimate with no over-budget discussion from Alan and after so much metalwork he complexly dropped the ball on my bodywork and paint. I absolutely would have paid to get it right if I had been told what is what.

So, Alan was it just my car that completely screwed by you and this paint shop?

Was that an intentional just to screw me?

Did they suddenly figure out how to paint without any body work like long blocking a car, not miss spots, buff through the paint, etc. etc. etc.?

How did they get so good so fast...? I guess there are a few possibilities like;

-A career of hard lessons was learned on just my one car..........

-You were just screwing me, a paying customer, with a crap paint job because I called you out on what you really are at Carlise the year before?

Or maybe you just had no insight about bodywork and paint?

You guys can listen to this conversation between myself and Alan and decide for yourself about this clowns lack of self-awareness, be prepared it's about 30 min, starts around 30 seconds in.....bring your popcorn

Remember guys, everything looks good in pictures (Alan's only QC criteria), look at the video posted again.

I guess this AAR owner will also have to cross his fingers and see if they electrics work? I mean if the switches LOOK clean and good, they must be OK for a 100% resto....

Time for this to site to stop being such a one-sided Alan clown show, he has screwed guys like me with their life-long Mopar projects and folks need to wake up to this fact.

Last question I have is Alan  - do you have a business license Alan to restore cars at your residential address? Halton Hills says you don't........

I don't think your homeowners insurance carrier is cool with this either.

And let's not even talk about the Canadian tax board and their interest in any creative bookkeeping relative to the Canadian taxies I paid, at least for now.

Happy holidays folks!

I have no dog in the fight and enjoy watching this progress...But to act clueless as to why the scrutiny is happening is like watching the one sided presidential impeachment process... Maybe Mike is just trying to keep this one from ending up at his shop for repairs like the last resto ??? Sorry, But it needed to be said...

Alan may be laughing but I doubt Erik is.....  This is a short video clip of the paint on Eriks car..... And yes Alan restored EriK's car...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iTOUosoqCMb_pgihFRMZNAgthmrvGq6h/view

I don't think member Hemicuda is intentionally disparaging member Sydwas' AAR, I think what he's doing is trying to get people to pay attention before they decide to commit to spending big $$$ on just any restoration shop.....

Who appointed Mike the restoration police?  Seriously, does he do this with every other person doing restos?

He may not be disparaging Sydwaz' AAR, but he sure seems to be going out of his way to disparage Alan and to some degree Sydwaz.

Alan has always been very transparent in what he is doing, and has lots of happy customers...and some unhappy ones which is typical in business.

I for one enjoy watching the progress on the cars Alan is doing and as was said above can do with out snide comments from certain members.

Alan provides an alternative for folks that do not want or can not afford a OE Gold restoration, that does not mean he should be bashed for it.

This community has always been about helping people, and not about bashing others.  If you don't like how one person does something, fine share your opinion and provide alternative,  but lets leave it at that, no need to bash anyone over their methods.

To answer your questions.
YES- I do have a registered business name and HST number and I am allowed to operate at my residence.
YES- I have home insurance and a separate business insurance policy
YES- I collect 13% Ontario HST tax on all goods and services I supply and submit it to the Government quarterly

I'm not sure why any of this would be a surprise to you, it was discussed prior to your car arriving here in Canada.

With that answered, if you guys wish to continue to discuss Erik's car, please take it back to the thread Erik started about his car.

I would like to continue this thread, posting pictures and discussing the progress of this beautiful AAR Cuda without any future harassment please. :drinkingbud:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

You did not answer questions about the terrible paint so let hear your answer/excuse.

ErikR

Again, I'd like to hear how the paint on this AAR came out so good when mine, painted by the same shop, was absolutely terrible.

Please explain that to us....

This is not the place for personal attacks.  You are more than welcome to communicate with emails, PMs or any other way you like, but it will not be done publicly on this forum if it gets personal.  We've all had our say about the past and we're moving on.

We're here to be positive and add value to our community, hobby and the brotherhood of cool cars.  No more personal attacks on anyone regardless of the past.  Don't think I'm not sympathetic to you or what happened.  I've been in similar situations and I reacted the same way you are.  Not saying you are right or wrong, but we are done with it.  It happened, it sucked for everyone involved, but we're moving forward so I suggest if you want to be part of a positive wonderful brotherhood of encouraging people then get on board with the "find something nice to say".  We're moving forward.

Appears Cody beat me to it . . I had a large post all typed out and then saw what he wrote . . Pretty much had the same points .  . .

Let us all try to keep it positive!
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

"It happened, it sucked for everyone involved"?  Well that's not true, didn't cost Alan a penny, he wouldn't even cover the expense of shipping it to have it worked on to be "presentable" not to mention what it will cost to complete all the metal and paint work.  Alan said he thought it looked "nice" and that's his level of quality.  You don't think the average potential customer deserves to be informed of what reality is?  What would the average customer expect when spending over 100K?  Metal work and paint done by the high school kids learning a trade?

Lets make this perfectly clear, I DON'T WANT OR NEED THE BUSINESS.  If I can save more potential customers from going through what Erik did, I'm on it.

I'm saying Alan ripped me off and is a bad player in the hobby.
I think folks need to hear that feedback on this forum - if it truly is all about the love of this hobby.

How can the paint on this AAR possibility be any good if mine was so terrible?
I think we all need to hear that answer especially any potential customers.

We're all adults so let's have that conversation here where everybody can read and decide for themselves. There will be counterpoints if folks that don't like Alan's work.

If this forum is going to continue with this one-sided bias then what's the point?

The issue I see is we have been through this multiple times . . And then to add the drama to this thread is not appropriate.  We created this forum to bring all of the ebody lovers together so we could be helpful to one another . . Not to bash.   :alan2cents:

I don't think anyone on here has an issue with an adult conversation presenting both sides of an issue.

I was pretty sure you guys had that, or at least I thought I read a post on that issue.

When you keep coming on a post and commenting negatively on it, bashing the owner of the car for his choices, or keep hinting at the member on your own posts, you have taken it to far!

You made your point, people will read the posts about your car and will decide for themselves.

If Alan did wrong by you, that's not right and I agree people need to know.  You made you point, now take it up privately, please.

You are absolutely correct! Why doesn't Alan step up and help Erik out with the expense of making his car, at least, "presentable"? None of these post address that issue. Would you "let it go" if you were in Erik's shoes? I don't blame him a bit. It's going to cost him thousands to get the car right.

You're still publicly whining! Settle your differences off the forum and quit hi-jacking someone else thread.
