Know anyone with a small lathe?  If you were closer I could modify a standard screw in about two minutes...

:Thud:  I was thinking you were looking for a normal carb bolt like the one in this photo.   :sorry:  I don't have anything like what you need.

Like 1 Wild R/T posted, I think a 12 point or even an allen head bolt would work.  Do you have a fastener store near you?

YellowThumper

Any industrial hardware store will sell these.
5/16-18 unc low head socket head cap screw.
Pic references smith. But mcmaster carr and grainger are options as well

I'm having a tough time finding this one, locally or online.  Cody, if you have one, that would be awesome!   It's a bolt that holds the carb riser to the engine.  It is 5/16" 18 thread.  The head is a flat head screw type and the diameter is 7/16" . Socket cap bolts don't seem to work because a 5/16" thread will have a 1/2" head.   I see some online that have the 5/16" threaded rod with some sort of nut on it, but they don't come short enough.  Anyone have any ideas?
If it was me, I would take the screw put it in a drill, run the drill and put a file to it, make it what ever size you want. Its a poor mans metal lathe.
Get in, I'll drive

@YellowThumper Thanks!  It really helps when you know what something is called.  I found a couple online, however they never specify the size of the head, but it is looking about right.  For $1 I think I can go ahead and order one.  I just hate waiting for a week for it to get here to see if it is correct.

@Spikedog08 ...I had our local hardware store guys scratching their heads.

I deal with industrial supply houses all over the US when doing installs, Five year ago or more I used Fastenal allot, but lately they stock less & only sell in bulk quantities...

They are not my first choice but I have gone there and bought 2-3 fasteners/fittings before. Might be an option in this case, you never know unless you call.....

Got JOB

Just read the thread. AWESOME. Often wondered about the car, glad it is coming together.

Yep...tried Fastenal.  They have a way on their website to check the closest Fastenal store stocking the item you are looking for.  I would have to go to South Carolina for this bolt.
