Well... called Seven different upholstery shops last week and not one did vinyl tops. It's definitely a dying art. Talked to one guy who had done them for years and wouldn't touch it because it was painted even though I left the top of the car in just epoxy primer....

Anyway, decided this week to bite the bullet and give it a shot. Took me two tries to put it on. First time it beat me without it even breaking a sweat, after reading I could reactivate the weldwood adhesive I ran to the hardware store to get glue remover and sandpaper to get the glue off the car itself.

Tried a different technique and am happy enough with the way it turned out to have a celebratory beer. Couple air bubbles here and there but who cares!! I conquered the one thing that most scared me the most not having a professional do.

Well done!  :perfect10:

Thank you for the kind words everyone! Just learning as I go, can't wait to be driving it.

I'm jealous.

Can you call up AMD for me and tell them to hurry up and re-stock their body parts?

I'm getting close to just buying a gen 3 hemi now and doing the drivetrain, wiring, etc. then pull it all apart for body work; just so I can make some progress while everything is out of stock

Actually, I used Dynacorn for most of my sheet metal and was quite happy with the fit with only minor work needing done!  :clapping:

Congrats on the progress.
Vinyl top included.
Bet that helps the forward momentum swing.

So I just realized I've been neglecting this thread I started for quite a while. Long story short, as of yesterday 6/1... IT LIVES.

Engine is go and can break in went well.
Need to chase a couple of gremlins electrically like why my dome light won't work, the gas gauge and water temp gauge both are not giving me a reading. So figure I was undo the gauge cluster today and see if they are getting power.

Car is also running very rich, 340 with mild cam, using a 750 Edelbrock with vacuum secondaries. I have a carb calibration kit on the way so hoping that will fix the problem.

Nice stance.  I like the full chrome Magnum 500's.

If no one has said it already, for your fuel gauge, make sure you have the jumper from your sending unit to the fuel line....or maybe I need to read the whole thread and am being lazy :)
