I mentioned a week or so back that my car was at the AMD Installation Center getting work. I plan to do a full write up with my experience and project, but thought I would give a quick teaser for everyone since work officially got started last week.

Edit by Cuda Cody: Flipped photo.

Oh man, I can't wait to hear about your experience with AMD.   :lurking:  I want one of those frame racks so bad!   :drooling:

Thanks for the flip. Not sure how I got it sideways.  :needphotos:

Easy to build, less then $300 worth of material....

I actually bought all the steel to build my own frame jig to do it myself when I changed directions and decided to farm out the metal work. Guess I got to figure out what to do with the steel now. Oh well.

That is a serious frame rebuild

Good time to make it a convertible if it wasn't already.

What are the details on the car itself ? Other than being a Challenger convertible
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Nothing fancy. 1970 challenger convertible. Originally a 318cid auto. I believe the factory color was red, but was yellow when I bought it in the 90s. Still debating what color to paint it. The yellow has history with me, but other colors would look good also.

Oh crap, it's in pieces.... I can't look, it's like looking at the Black Dahlia crime scene   :o

Looks like some serious body work there . . . way past my talents!   :worship:
Drive it like you stole it . . . And they're CHASING you!

When they're that far apart you know everything that needs work will be repaired.

Jeez and I thought I cut mine up, and I still had the rockers and roof! Why's the cowl off, is it being replaced or just to facilitate another part of the repair? Having a dedicated rack, model specific, would make life MUCH more easy doing one of these things!

Yes, the prior owner made some cuts to the firewall so I am having it replaced. Many parts are being replaced. I've seen many with more cancer, but my car seemed like it needed small patches everywhere. I was going to repair them myself, but when I decided to farm out to AMD, they specialize in full panel replacement. So I had more full panels replaced then I had planned to do myself originally. On the bright side AMD sheet metal is nice and beefy, so car should come back better than new.
