I've seen a couple 1970 Challengers that have rubber on the rear bumper guards. Mine however does not, nor does it even have the drill-outs for them. Should I just assume that mine never came with them? November build.

You only got rubbers on the rear guards if you had the optional front guards :alan2cents:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Thanks! I had no idea that it was an option!

My '70 Challenger had the rubber cushions on the back bumper guards as well as the front ones. From the assy. line.

correct, STANDARD all '70 Challengers was just the rear chrome bumperettes

OPTIONAL was a "M85" front & rear bumper guard "package" at $23.80 which included the front bumper guards w/rubber cushion and added the rear cushion to the already present rear guards.

Awesome 6bbl, amazing history as always.

What a weird option. Possibly the weirdest option? Seems line a compliance option to me, not necessarily something most people would actually order.

Is that Mr. Randy in the photo?

Yeah, 23 years ago.... Now I look older fatter & less hair....   But still having fun...

Not on my A66 either.

Maybe it was a fashion thing as the chrome fenders on the 1971 Boss Mustang had them too.

I believe bumper guards were more of a protection thing, like body-side-mouldings and door edge mouldings

My first vert had the A05 Protection Group...

Second vert just had the bumper guards... A05 doesn't play well with V9X...
