Thinking about removing the billboards on the 73 this weekend.
Would a plastic scraper and heat gun be the appropriate tools for the easiest removal ?
Hoping to get it off in large pieces to keep the job simple and short.
Anyone removed theirs that has good idea for the removal , would love to hear them .

3M woodgrain remover....doesn't harm the paint. :alan2cents:

Thanks @anlauto .
Will pick some of that up for sure.

Easier to do it on a hot day but out of the sun. I wish you were closer I would give you a hand with it.

Depending on how long they've been on....you could just get them warm and try pulling them off  :dunno:

Thanks, definitely have the heat here now, and can do under the carport.

Tried three different auto parts stores , they have the adhesive remover but not the woodgrain and stripe remover itself.
Will try at NAPA today.
Expensive can but if it does the job.
Question, should one can be able to do both the billboards ?

JS29

There is a tool that looks like a giant eraser that go's on a drill. messy and dusty, but it does not hurt the paint. NAPA or any jobber that sales bodyshop supplies, or even harbor fright will have them.  :alan2cents:  I have seen those spray removers bite or other wise damage paint!

@JS29 , yeah I believe that is the 3M eraser I'm actually on my way to harbor freight right now to pick up something else I'll take a look at that too.
I did order a can of the 3M woodgrain & stripe remover , get it monday.
Will try heat gun and plastic scraper today and if HF has the eraser maybe that.

The heat gun and plastic scraper can be tricky.. Just enough heat and too much is a thin line between the two.. You could have used the 3M adhesive remover in the can and kept working it but the process would be a long one..Although probably safer in the long run if the heat gun gets away from you..Don't think the eraser is foolproof I've seen some serious paint damage from them as well..

A heat gun will easily damage the paint :alan2cents:
