I'm about to paint the pinch welds on my 1970 Barracuda, so I did a bit of research here on the Forum. I came across this Tech Bulletin. It shows blackout paint from the rocker gill moldings down.

Can't say I've seen this before on other 'Cuda restorations, at least didn't notice it. Am I reading this wrong?

Not sure what paint break they're showing with that style trim.. Looks to be much higher than where the 70 rocker gill attaches...Here's the 70 black out treatment page...

that's an ugly attachment..Let's try again as a jpg..

That's the one I was looking for when I came across the one I posted the link for. :notsure:

I often black-out the entire bottom of the rocker, if there is wide sill moldings, like on 1970 E-bodies, I will bring the black up under the trim, and of course 71 Cudas get the whole rocker blacked on like in the first attachment. :alan2cents:

Thanks, Alan. So, does this sound right?  The 1970 Barracuda without the rocker molding gets just the pinch weld/ bottom of rocker blacked out. The 'Cuda gets blacked out up to (behind) the Gill rocker molding.  :dunno:

Interestingly, I noticed Organasol was the blackout finish they used on the tech page I linked.

That's how I would approach it..I'm not going to preach that it's 100% the correct way.....I noticed the "organisol" comment as well...interesting...
