I've never attended Carlisle, but I am making it a priority for 2020!  How about we hire a professional Videographer & Photographer to capture the weekend for us to provide a professional photo AND video history of the event for the e-bodies.org event at Carlisle!?

And those who are attending who wish to obtain a copy of both could put up a few bucks to contribute towards the Videographer and Photographers fee...

I've used a professional Videographer & Photographer numerous times for the Bay Area Classic Mopar Cruises events I coordinate here in California, and all the participants absolutely love it!

That way, we can enjoy the event and not worry about if we got enough pictures or videos; it will be done for us and professionally edited!

I'll attach 2 of the most recent videos we had created for our Mopar cruises/events, just to give you all an idea of what could be created for us at Carlisle!

1) I agree that there will be a bigger turnout next year being the 50th anniversary. We are planning a group trip from Ontario which could bump next year's numbers by 5-10. I don't know if anyone from Ontario was there this year. I'll have a better idea after Moparfest.

2) Other activities: I'm not sure how necessary this is. For me the weekend is about hanging out with group members. Also, I did 2 days of a 4 day cruise in June and by late afternoon people just wanted to veg at the hotel. Most, if any, didn't go to the evening car show that was planned each day.

3) Tent: Once we get an idea of numbers next year we can decide how big of a tent we need. I'm sure if you pass the hat at Saturday lunch, when most people are present, you'll get enough to cover the tent cost.

4) I question the value of doing a meal somewhere. In that setting, you get two hours of conversation with those in your immediate setting area. A parking lot party is much more conducive to mingling. Perhaps we should get a meal catered in.  :dunno: The only potential issue is rain.

Hi Murray!

I don't think we're looking to add more "events" for the club to the Carlisle weekend - just making sure that the things we DO decide to do are the BEST things we can do and are things the members will enjoy the most.  If, for example, everyone agrees they want to return to the car museum we rented out in 2017, then I think Cody, Dave and I can put together a plan to make it work.  If people decide they'd rather do their own dinners so they can spend more time in the hotel parking lot, then by all means, we can make that adjustment.

I agree that the club dinner can be reorganized a million different ways - things have changed a good bit in that area and there are lots of options now.  I've even considered having a catered dinner at a hotel, such as in a conference room (trying to cater outside is tricky at best, especially in a lot that we don't have 100% control of).  My original idea in 2017 was to cater a dinner at the museum in the parking lot, until they said, "Oh no - you can just have your dinner inside by all the cars!"  Well WORKS FOR ME!!!  :D

The ONLY issue we've frequently seen with the hotel festivities is that some folks just want to stick with what they know - they don't book where everyone else does because they've found a hotel they're comfortable with and they book it year after year.  Those folks rarely come to the "main" hotel to hang out with everyone (that used to happen, but not so much anymore for some reason.)  That's been the best thing about the club lunch on Saturday - it tends to get a HUGE crowd under that tent for about an hour.  We love it.

e-body70 - the videographer is a cool idea but I have to imagine it's kinda pricey, and since Carlisle is SO huge and members kinda tend to wander off on their own frequently, I dunno how well that would work for this particular show...

Anyways, keep the ideas coming!

The Videographer fee is surprisingly not too expensive, especially if we get a group of us interested and pay towards the fee!  I'm sure it depends on what Videographer is contacted, as everyone has their own prices.  But, the guy I used charges only $350 (this includes a day of filming and all the editing).

For example, lets say we get 25 people interested for a videographer, that's just $14 per person, and you get a professionally edited video of the e-body section and whatever else the group wants into the video.

Just a thought to float around for the group

@Spikedog08  Isn't it July 10th, 11th and 12th of 2020?  That would be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, right?

70 Challenger Lover

I've always wanted to attend this show but being on the wrong side of the country makes it tough. In talking with the wife just now, I learned that one of her best friends just moved to Carlisle last year and bought a house. She's now trying to talk me into the trip next year so I can do all the cool show stuff every day while she hangs out with her friend. How's that for good luck?

Cuda Cody

You gotta do it!!!!     You will have a blast!

As mentioned earlier this was my first time making it to Carlisle and before lunch on Saturday I had already registered for next year!

I like the idea of having a collectible to sell or giveaway. I would love a 50 years of E Body banner to hang in the garage or bar!

As far as a fit crew goes thats a cool way to make a keepsake for the group and makes for a great marketing tool. Next year I am going to being all of my equipment and will try and put something together. I have been thinking about how to capture the entire show in a video since I got there on Friday.

Also I am trying to figure out how to drive my 'cuda over next year and I think have a solution I just need someone to buy a kidney and the Hellephant to go back on sale! Just kidding unless someone wants to buy a kidney. I have found a multipoint EFI system for BB Chryslers that I plan on trying out, it should make a fun winter project.

Thanks to everyone for making my first to so AWEOME and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in a year!
