Was an interesting read.....

I love the bare bones options of this car in an understated color - so very '70s in my mind - I can just imagine someone walking in and wanting the cheapest version of the biggest engine.....

Neat car if the story is accurate

That car belongs to a local friend of mine.  He bought it at Mecum Kissimmee last year for $135,000 + the buyers premium.  It'll be a profitable flip for him if Volo gets anything near that price.  Though I see the ask has been lowered. Up until last week it was over $300K!

Dave Wise did a video of his evaluation of the car.

Awesome stuff!  I would pay $135K all day long......had I only known.. after $200K its out of my price range, and even that is a stretch.  But like any true car nut, I could always find a way to justify the "investement" :)

Why do you guys think it sold so cheap at Mecum?

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

I don't know my local friend well enough to have much insight into what happened, he just said sometimes things go cheap.
I get afraid at auctions if a car isn't bidding high, perhaps everyone knows some dirt on the car except me?
Or maybe Mecum was planning to short hammer it with a house bid, and flip it for a nice profit at a future auction, but signals got crossed up and they accidentally hammered it when my friends bid was high instead of theirs?
