Because Bruce Willis drove it in a movie.
Now will Google tell me which movie it was.

Plus they ding you an extra 2% (12%) if you bid by phone or internet.
10% is the "in person" buyers fee.

There was a car I was interested in, but by the time I tried to guestimate the hammer price, plus buyers' fees, transport fees, gas surcharge fee for the transport, it was not a good fiscal move to try and purchase the car via the auction.

Today's e-body is an AAR Cuda sold for $82,000 plus buyer's premium.

I bought one of my Challengers at auction 10 years ago and did real well on it.  At the time buyer premium was 6% and the auction was in my area, so the next day I drove it home.  Transportation was about $10 in gas!  :D
Later I felt I took chances and got away with it.  The seller wasn't by the car, so I couldn't ask questions.  You can't start or test drive the cars.  The keys were tied to the steering column so I couldn't even open the trunk to inspect there.  After I bought it, I found it had a perfect original trunk floor!  :ohyeah: But no jack, space saver or inflator.  :Thud:
They play a lot of games at the auctions including chandelier bidding cars up and even short hammering cars so the house can buy it cheap and flip later.
I see cars sell high at auction and show up soon after at a future auction.  Buyer flake out, or phony sale to imply the auction was more successful than it really was in getting high sales prices for cars?
You can get a good deal on a good car if you do your homework and a little luck, but you can get burned too. So you need to go in with both eyes open if considering buying or selling at an auction.  :alan2cents:

$90,200 is strong money for that quality of a non-matching number AAR in my opinion....

How about a 6 cyl Gremlin for over $30 K  :o https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0122-485921/1974-amc-gremlin-x/

Looks like a gremlin my friends had.  I think theirs was an automatic though.
I'll tell you what, their car got as much or more attention than any other cars at cruises. People loved it.
Malaise era cars coming on strong in the collector car market.

My Aunt bought a Levi edition Gremlin new, those probably draw extra money.

I talked with my cousin about it recently and she still has a Levi tote bag that came with the car.  I told her she should check into it's worth, there is probably  someone that wants that bag.

I go on the website and I can not find any of these cars in the lists.
What am I missing?

Can any of you link the cars?

alright, I went through the 11 pages and just missed the AAR.  Must be because it's white.
I thought the page was missing them, turns out it's just me.

Also even easier is on the left hand side click "text list" then you can type in any car make or model you want and it will bring up just those cars to view.
