I run Lucas 75/90 synthetic. You don't need any additives or friction modifiers with it and it's priced right. I think it's like $10.00 a quart from Summit racing.

Quote3.55 is a great gear.

I posted last week about going with 3.55's and people said it was a junk gear.(it doesn't do anything well)  So, which is it?  Is a 3.55 a good "all around" ratio or not?

Everyone has differing opinions on what they want the car to do . The trans type make a huge difference as well , lower first gear ratios work well with higher gears . For example an 833 OD has a 3.09 1st gear ratio where most are 2.6 or 2.4 1st gear , for highway 3.23 works well but again it will depend on the cam as it can lug the engine if you are not driving fast enough  , I love 2.76 for top speeds , I even used an 833od with 2.76 with .71 od yeilding 2:1 final drive ratio , I could idle at 75 MPH !!

Like Chryco said.  Various opinions all depending what you want to do. My little 340 with a 4 speed didn't like the 3.55. I run my car pretty hard so I'm looking for the best full throttle acceleration. I'm currently running 3.91 which is my favorite and works with my combination the best. Down side is running high rpm on the highway and hideous gas mileage. I have run a 3.23 and it worked in my car better than the 3.55. It all had to do with where the rpm's landed between shifts. If I was driving my car like a sane person I would run a 3.23
