Quote from: JH27N0B on June 29, 2023, 10:05:42 AMIt just occurred to me, when I got the Mr Norms sales paperwork for my Challenger T/A, it showed that when the car was purchased new in February of 1971, the buyer traded in an H code '70 Challenger towards his purchase.  I'll have to remember when I get home and dig out the sales envelope and post the VIN of that trade in.

I just pulled out the paperwork folder and here is the info on the A66 Challenger traded in on my T/A in February of 1971 by Patrick Willford of Rolling Meadows Illinois.
It was orange though which orange wasn't specified.
It's VIN was JH23H0B268210
They marked down it had an automatic and a radio, no other details.
I wonder if JH23H0B268210 still exists by any chance?

Sorry for my late answer, haven't been here for quite a while. Are you sure that you read the VIN right? I have 0B268310 as an EF8 JH23G, see attached FT, downloaded in 2017.
I did misread my Norms sales paperwork.  The traded in car was JH23H0B268218.  And the notes said it was orange automatic.

Thank you for responding
268218 was not in the A66 Registry. I created a file should the car show up somewhere, some time. Appreciated your efforts. Thanks Phil

Attended an All Mopar Car Show in Califon, NJ today and came across an A66 Challenger in restorable condition with a long term owner. Really nice guy who has done exceptional bodywork and owns some really beautiful Mopars that he has restored. He i s currently working on an original 440-6 Shaker Challenger. The A66 has been in long term ownership and is a late 1970 production A66 717 scheduled build date (July 1970) The car is a rare color original black TX9 with a white interior and white top. Has interesting options; coded for dual rear speakers w an AM radio, gas cap, and rear defog! This is the latest A66 Challenger build date in the Registry 717. This could be one of the last or the last A66 Challenger built!

Matt M posted a FB pic of this A66 Challenger in a car show in Ohio. Beautiful car. Was modified from the original Y1 paint and black bumble stripe to the Panther Pink w an RT stripe and grill emblem. Also originally had the black hood decal and a black vinyl top!

Sad death of Paul Edward Goldsmith on September 6, 2024. Renowned motorcycle, stockcar driver and Nascar Racer, Drove for Pontiac early in his career and later for Smokey Yunick. In our circles, He wrote the December 1969 Popular Mechanics article on an early 1970 Challenger 340 road test w a flat hood. It turned out to be an early prototype 318 Challenger converted to a 340 to see production feasibility. Rest in Peace Paul!

Congrats to new A66 Challenger owner Kimmen Lindqvist, who just purchased an A66 convertible in a dark FT6 with a tan interior. Car was in Sweden since 1973 and now Kimmen is the new owner!
Thanks to Ola N who clarified the serial number for the A66 Registry.

In speaking with the owner; Updated information. The A66 vert's color is a dark FT6, not TX9. Interior is H6T5 tan. The car is a D32 automatic, and is coded for the radio group-A04, wide sill molding M25, hood pins J45, white convertible top V3W, and a V9T Tan bumble stripe. Very Cool A66 Challenger!
