Build sheet question

   So why did most build sheets end up in the rear seat backs ?  I mean the sheet was needed as the car went down the assembly line. And the sheet was put in the seat back when the seat was made, right   :notsure: Which was probably before the car started down the line ??  Just don't add up.    :thinking:

Mine was taped to the back of the glove box.....

I'm betting that the back seat was installed last as it just slips in....

there were dozens of sheets for each car as it was being assembled

one for every department and/or for each sub-assembly

most commonly found still in cars once they reached "used car" status were inside seat springs or back of glove box

I would say the ones in the seat backs were harder to fish out and chuck in the garbage so that's why a few cars still have them. In the 70's I would usually find more than 1 sheet in any car I pulled the carpet or seats out of.
