I didnt know her, but just read up on her.  Thats hard to understand when you are only 36, but it sounds like she was passionate and dedicated to breaking records.

Shoooter

Been watching her for years, very sad but she went doing what she loved

From what I read, she was filling in for the other driver...Ed? who was sick.

The race time slot was scheduled so she had to keep the the time slot for them to do it.

Very sad...  what a tragedy !

Such a shame, she really did make her own path and kicked tail along the way. I met her for a brief second at the SEMA Overhaulin tent back in '06.

Such a tragic loss to the automotive world. To die doing something you love is the best way to go instead of a slow painful death from disease.
RIP.

Her terrible loss was over in an instant.
The real pain will linger for a long time for those closest to her. For them I feel deep sadness. For her I feel gratitude for all she has done for the automotive world. Many new doors are open and will remain open for women because of her.
My hat is tipped in respect.

It's really sad.  Lots of questions yet to be answered.  Guys on Yellowbullet are saying at those speeds there might not have been much of her left to find.  However, her boyfriend said that they did everything they could to save her.  Her family said she was surrounded by family and friends when she died.  I heard there was a fire on board after the crash.  I just hope she went quick and didn't feel anything.

There is video of her run but it ends before the crash.  She was absolutely flying.  Will be interesting to hear just how fast she ran.

Only thing I heard was that the vehicle didn't come to a stop at the end of the run. The vehicle went through the safe shut down zone at some excessive speed and crashed beyond that point.  The impact area was similar to a plane crash.

There were multiple cameras on the vehicle so it's likely there is video of the incident.
