Look at what a friend sold me Saturday. I'm so thankful for it. It's the last MAJOR piece I needed. This is probably the hardest piece I had to find for a fair price. The cap is stamped, but it's so light you can barely see it. After painting it, you want be able to see it.

So we need to know.....What did you have to pay for it in that condition ?

Nice score. I'll be looking for one as well, although some time away from that point. Way to go!

Alan, My buddy was nice enough to let me have it for 300.00. I had to do some trading on some 340 6 pack carbs and a intake that needed some work. He got a good deal.

:haha: :haha: :haha: That's so funny...I was going to guess exactly $300....It looks very much like the one I picked up for $300 last year.... :ohyeah:

The casting number 171 is what everybody wants for a 1970 E Body with power brakes......

Thanks Alan. Reason?

The reason ?  The reason, in my opinion, is the basic overall appearance. NO OTHER aftermarket master cylinder has the correct "flat face" look to it. When you pop the hood.....it's one of the first things that jumps out to ME.... :alan2cents:

It amazes me how some of you guys know every and all of these little details and how important that is to you. I just think they look cool and are fun to drive. I guess we're all in it at a different level.

Alan, these AAR's are tough to find parts for. I started out with a hull. STRIPPED , but it has come along way. I'm sure you know all about it.

I got just like that from a wrecked Challenger and sent it to someplace in VA. Think was White  house resto. White something but not house, just not sure of the name.Put on my AAR and drove it with no problems.

Damn...I think I have a few old ones deep in my shed, from a 70. Gotta check the casting numbers, if I still have them, thought they were trash.
