caught the 1971 movie "the Mephisto Waltz" w/Alan Alda, Jacqueline Bisset, Bradford Dillman
..... also featured a U-code 440HP '70 Challenger R/T convertible in a ~2 minute scene

it looked red (FE5) on TV but looks orange (EV2) on the youtube footage I captured these stills from
:takealook:  black interior & stripes, white top (H6X9 V6X V3W) hood pins, belt mouldings, bumper guards, rim-blow steering wheel, dual painted racing mirrors, road wheels

a Quinn Martin Production & Distributed by 20th Century Fox - filmed in California and appeared to have blue/yellow CA license plates on it

noticeably different than the red '70 Challenger R/T convertibles seen in "Adam-12" & "The Mod Squad"

After "they bargain with human bodies" the car swerves to miss the Mack truck....The roof is down...then they pan out and the roof is up... :looney:  I love spotting stuff like that....drives my wife crazy when I point it out by pausing and backing up over and over again...

...and with the windows down....where's the constant drone of the 440 and dual exhaust ???  :P

Our annual cruise night was last week and it is such a zoo with kids in trucks doing burnouts on the street, I've stopped going. I usually just go to the car show later that night. I neglected to this year. Would you know it, a new car showed up I've never heard of. It was an unrestored, 70 Challenger, RT convertible 440 car. It was hemi orange. Not really many mopars down here.
