What a sad day. Too bad his work at Chrysler was destroyed by Eaton and the German crew. I think we need leaders like him now. He wasn't shy to look you in the eye and give you the straight goods.

Several decades ago I read his book, so I might be off some. In it he talked about how expensive it was to retool a factory for a new from the ground up model of car so it was very common to use existing cars like a Falcon and put new skin on it and called it a Mustang. He was pissed when new people changed from original body style to new 1970 style.  Talked about how they would hype a car as being luxary and charge high prices. Lincoln Mark3 (I think) was a lessor model with cheap fancy trim. Dealers made outrageous $$$ on it.
