I disabled the battery and fuel pump and put the cover on.

They already looted this block on Saturday, so hopefully they won't come back.

Finished my amateur "restoration" of the taillight housings.  Went to the 72 rallye style.  What a difference a little bit of argent makes!

Also took my wife and kids for a spin and let her drive her first stick mopar!

The horn would only blow in certain positions turning the wheel.  Pulled the steering wheel off, disassembled the horn parts, cleaned the contact points as they were a little something ugly and put back together..........good to go now......

Restoration shop called and we needed to have a "Talk".  Looks like there was more hidden damage and the car needs to visit the frame shop to address it.   
Frustrating, but this should be the end of the surprises.  All her clothes are off now and there are no places else to hide, I hope.  Decided to do it right.  Get the bones square and strong.  Going to stress the budget (read that as stress explaining the extra work to the wife). Maybe overkill for my level of restoration looking for a nice driver, but I'll feel a lot better about it.


On the plus side, I got to see a nice Six-Pack Superbird in for some work, '70 Trans Am 455 Stage IV, 1 of 6 '67 Camaro convertible big block Pace Car is next to my POS.

I discovered the miracle of Evapo-Rust! doesn't harm/touch paint/plastic or eat the metal, just eats the rust away. don't know how I didn't know about this stuff before. literally dip a part in, soak for several hours or overnight ... rinse, WD40 and good to go. tested on my seat rails that I couldn't even budge .... now they move freely like nothing ever happened. working on the rear window regulators now, hoping to get the same results as they are rusted solid.

Finally installed my rebuilt / restored AVS Carter That Scott from Harms auto did. He did a great job and it runs like a fine tuned machine now!
As I said Scott is a true artist at his work. It is the original carb that looked 50 years old now it looks band new. Beautiful work Scott .

Weird weather today about 60 degree's Burr..... Took out the Challenger for a couple hours . No where special just out driving. Sure miss local cruise nights. Never thought I'd say that! LOL

Where did you get that challenger poster on your wall? Looks like the color matches the car!

Been thinking about doing this for awhile to relief hot air out of the engine bay prolonging the life of the electronics. I fabricated them out of some gutter drain screen. Took about half hour to make excluding painting and drying. Not very professional looking but ok unless looking close up. It works like a chimney after engine is off as proven by my tissue paper test. I did not drill out the factory "pan" setup that is held by rivets so the slot opening is not that big. I wanted to keep it reversible.

The poster was a gift but it comes from https://automolove.ca/
He makes them to replicate your car.  So its no coincidence that car on the poster is my color and also has the gator grain top.  It also has the rim-blow wheel which im going to have on my car.

That wasnt me.  My car is an original V1G gator top car.  And there is a story behind the top...  I bought my car in 1991.  In 1995 an NOS roll of the gator grain material was found.  It was enough to make about 8 tops.  My brother saw the ad in a mopar magazine and I was lucky enough to have been one of the few who were able to get an order in and bought one (from Legendary) for $800 back in '95.  It's been in my posession for the last 25 years.  I finally went to have it installed this year in feb.  Laid it out on the car..... and it was too narrow by about 3 inches!!  Wasnt cut right.  My heart sank.  I waited all that time and the top was no good.  Luckily I still had the receipt and, long story short, got Legendary to honor it.  They sent me a new repro top free of charge and just had it installed yesterday.  I think it really makes the car special.  Im glad I was able to finally see the car in its gator skin    I love it.
