Design ideas for the ex headlight buckets. Will ad an additional ring in center like the red-eye.

Lots of potential! What model did you go with? I went with a Qidi Q1 Pro as it does the high temp stuff like Nylon CF/GF and I want the option to dabble with car parts (high thermals, high strength and durability with chemical resistance).

Bamboo Lab X1 Carbon.
Same here with car parts.
Needed a temporary guage mount. 5 minute design and an hour print later I had one. Just pla as it is temporary.

2 settings that I'm loving so far -1st is 'Fuzzy', it helps hide the print lines by doing a bunch of micro bumps, gives it a texture. 2nd is another print setting to change line thickness - the default of .3 the lines are much more clearly visible, I changed down to a .1 and the prints look so much better and smoother (at the expense of longer run times of course)

Saw review vids on the X1 and lack of layer lines was was what sold me on it.

Well, it's finally happening. Son Nick and I got the Challenger on stands and started the dismantling of the drive shaft and trans, as well as draining and pulling the rad as we work toward swapping out the original 360 for the 408 I built that's been on the stand for nearly two years. Turns out that the copy of an airgap intake, being dual use for with a Magnum block, has got those vertical bosses and they interfere with the throttle cable stand and the return spring stand and I'm going to have to McGiver some solution accordingly.    I'm also going to chase down a guy to install all the new trans bearings and parts while it's out. God help me. This is also the time to yank the steering column and replace that POS plastic guide in the bottom of the jacket. I remember a thread here or on CC.com and have a bearing to replace it. This'll also give me an opportunity? to clean up the engine bay that thanks to the oil seepage everywhere, has kept the rust at bay  :bigthumb:   I didn't get the new set of knees for Christmas that I asked for, so the work goes slowly, but I hope we get 'er done by spring. Wish me luck laddies, I'll need it!  :tool:

Drove to East TN to pick up my tremec two days ago... then yesterday I drove to Stephens to pick up my shaker hood and replacement deck lid.

Not wanting to wait for son Nick to do it, my wife and I hauled the engine hoist out and put it together, I realized I hadn't taken the clutch Z-bar off and finangled that and hooked that crane sucker up. I hooked up the hoist and with 1/2" to spare, lifted the engine out of the engine compartment. Got 'er out and pulled the bellhousing and clutch. I also realized that this thing, being a 360 had an offset, 6 bolt flywheel and I need an 8 bolt, neutral! I'm hoping and praying that my expensive Milodon oil pan fits in this thing! Tomorrow is a  search for the new clutch and hopefully a suitable flywheel! It took a few tokes of my stogie and a MHL to calm the situation down. :bigthumb:

Rcvd my shifter and associated parts today, gotta drop off the mounting plate so the tranny shop can drill/tap the rear tail holes. Lots of parts coming this week, it'll be like Christmas all over again, except I had to buy my own presents  :))

Still putzing along with the stroker swap. I think I dodged a bullet in that I believe my stroker crank comes dual drilled, for 8 AND 6 bolt flywheels but it won't be until tomorrow when I get the 408 off the stand that I'll be able to test the theory- wish me luck! We have a beat up old wooden crate affair that we've used for engines for ages and when I opined that it seemed to be a good choice to stack my old 360 on, I was given to understand that it held "sentimental value" for it's many uses by my sons, so it was upstairs, find the Princess Auto engine dolly and try to see if that Chev oriented contraption could be made to function for a Dodge! Amazingly, the back two uprights could be made to hook up on the 360- after driving one of the bellhousing dowels out. The fronts were another matter and some highly technical placing of 2X4s shimmed things up. A judicious amount of wire through and around the pine "mounts" gave a wee sense of retention, but then I noticed that the whole contraption had developed a list to starboard! Further application of a wood cross brace drilled and screwed into place seems to have restored it's equanimity- we'll see. Getting it behind my tool boxes and shop press makes my back ache already, but son Nick has said he'll help. Thank God! Jeez, I can remember swapping engines on a Saturday and here it's going into weeks! This MAY have something to do with sloth and avoidance of nasty labour but I'm not copping to anything- yet. I may have to pick up another box of MHL, time will tell.  :bigthumb:

Not my car but today I helped a buddy remove the wiper linkage from his 74 Charger. The need for this arose last summer on a less than dry day when the true value of Rainex became very apparent. A broken bushing had caused the linkage to become separated. So out with old bushings, tough little suckers, and in with the new. Well it wasn't quite that easy. We crushed the first one and didn't do much better with the rest. So tomorrow it will be a call to Detroit Muscle Technologies for not one, but two more sets of bushings. It's a good thing they're cheap. If anyone has a good method of getting these guys pressed into position I'm all ears.
