Helped a friend remove the 4 speed transmission, bell housing, clutch and flywheel from his 72 Cuda. It was our first go around at that and there's more to it than it looks. Tremec 5 speed going in.

I'm not sure Murray. They were all mixed with other sized ones in a drawer. There may have been 10? more. I imagine that Willy has a hardware guy who restocks his stuff. Why, you looking for some?

No, I was just curious. If they were that hard to find they must be a bit rare.

The enclosed hat type ones are stupidly scarce, but since my car is no where near being a concours restoration, the ones I got (that'll be inside the fender) will do just fine.  :bigthumb:

Would you please elaborate on what was done and possibly post before/after pics?

Thank you

Been a minute but I've been making progress.  Door handles installed once I bought the correct length lock rods.  Dash frame is on the floor after I painted it cause I need the counter space for the dash pad (doing the VIN tag Chrysler Corp decal tomorrow).  Cleaned up the light bar lenses and repainted it.  Had to use cheesy rivets but  :dunno:

Another day of putzing. I thought I'd make a replacement gas line from the pump to the carb and went looking for some 5/16ths steel tubing. Turns out that I could buy pre-ended line in 2-3-4ft lengths and the 3 and 4ft ones I bought, were one of the very few inexpensive things I've bought for this car; $6.50 for a 3' and 4' one. Now to see if I can still handle my old Rigid bender! Think to put the carb I have back on for the duration, I sorted out the 3 base gaskets and heat shield but had a bitch of a time bending over the elevated (it's on stands)rad support trying to juggle the four pieces and the carb, which as I've grown older, has increased in heft! So it was off on a quest to find some studs. The local nut and bolt joint said they couldn't supply same, so it was buy a length of 5/16" threaded rod and some washer-faced nuts and home to fit/cut/rethread some of it into my studs. Having finally got the studs made and in, I was able to get the carb on, only to have it look like I might not have enough clearance for the hood to close! Yikes! Has anybody used an air-gap type intake with a 650 Holley on top and had issues? I really don't want to have to mill the choke housing off nor pull the intake and substitute my old Torker and would appreciate any guidance that's out there! Thx! :cheers:

Loosely wad a ball of tin foil and place it on the air cleaner. Slowly close the hood and it will show you how close clearance or lack of it is.

I did on Challenger and wondered if it would have worked with flat hood.

"I did on Challenger and wondered if it would have worked with flat hood."  Mine's a rallye hood and I hope that'll give me a bit more height. We'll see.  :bigthumb:

Today was the day that the 'cuda came home! It was a long process for the restoration, but worth every $$$.
A lot of memories, now time to make new ones.

@1ownr

Congrats Judy!  You must be elated after such a long history with this car.  Have you done a restoration thread?  Would love to see some more pics, both newly restored and from back in the day when you were daily driving it.

Wow, congratulations Judy! You know we are going to need more pictures than that! Cool little cocoon it lives in!  :bravo:

Congratulations Judy! I expect the blue one will spend more time sitting this summer. Very happy for you that it's done.
