Hi, sources for AM/FM Thumbwheel radio resto?

All the cosmetics (plastic chroming, etc) plus internals.

Thanks

Floyd

Unexplored territory for me now that Ward's is gone.  I'm planing on sending some speakers out to these folks in the near future.  They appear to be a full service radio restoration outfit too:  http://jvrestorations.com/car-radio-repair-service/

I contacted Greg Ward awhile back and asked who he'd recommend for a full radio resto.  He wasn't aware of a full-service shop and suggested trying "S&M Electrotech" in MN for the repairs, and Instrument Specialties in RI for the cosmetic resto.

It will be helpful to know what you find.

Even when Wards was running full operations they would touch the 1970 Phillips brand thumbwheel radios....I'm not sure anybody can ?
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Interesting tid bit from the linked site .."Instrument Specialties can convert any vintage AM or factory AM/FM radio to 2011 technology.".  Would think they would be closer to 2020's technology by now...

@Floyd

Did you ever have your speakers serviced by jvrestorations.com?  If so, how did they turn out?  l'm considering their services as well and a first hand report would go a long way.

Thanks,

@SpeedD408 - I did get my center dash speaker redone as well as getting my AM radio done.  Everything looks good with regard to the speaker but I am still a ways away from firing up the car/turning on the radio😀.  Good service, communication, and reasonably priced work.

Thank you very much for the follow up report.  I'm Looking at getting my Thumb Wheel AM/FM radio and multiplexer worked over.  Not that there is a issue with it, but @ 50 years old I'm sure it could use a good cleaning and the caps replaced at minimum to bring it back to original audio quality.  I'm looking either JV Restorations or Joe's Classic Car Radio.  From their websites they both look good.  No one seems to have used Joe's (from the searches I've done on these sites), so a report on JV Restoration is much appreciated.

I have had great luck with Ralph The Radio Guy in Illinois. I do not have his info handy but he is easy to find online.
He has done several b and e body bluetooth conversions and they look and work great.
Also very fast turn around time

Thanks but not really interested in a conversion.

I did have an audio Jack added to the back of my AM radio.  I believe I'll be able to play tunes through my phone/iPod.  It's still going through a stock single dash speaker so I'm not expecting much of this...
