I have a truck Dana 60 I'll be narrowing with a friend. How narrow can I go while still running leaf springs. I won't be mini tubbing. Thinking about the us cartool relocation kit, it moves them in 3". Looking to run the biggest tire setup I can.

Check the spline count of the side gears trucks have two options.... Personally I'd probably set it up at the standard B body width since you don't plan to mini tub.... BTW you do know there are no provisions for a pinion snubber right?

Having done a lot of these over the years I have to agree , going to the B body width is about the best without seriously mini tubbing & or moving the frame rails .
depending what diff you have , if you have the 8 bolt diff with floater ends but the time you cut those off you may actually be too narrow & might have to replace 1 or both tubes to get the correct width .
there are other considerations as well , , I would not use the green brgs on the axles , you really want to stay with the tapered roller brgs , there is a larger ford setup that will work using tapered rollers as well .
In the end I thought I would save $$ cutting down a truck diff for my Chall but by the time I replaced both tubes & powder coated the housing & went to the larger ford ends it cost me about the same as buying a new one from Dr Diff / Cass .

I agree if I was looking for one I would get a new one from Dr Diff or Strange they cost under 2k and are completely new with the correct pinion snubber.

Pickup ones usually have good length tubes. Make sure it isn't an HD Dana 60 with extra webbing/weight.
The last one I did had a factory power lock which I just had to change to 35 spline side gears and then I bought some factory A-body Dana 60 axles and cut it to length. Even after changing gears I was in at around $800. You have to shop carefully though and the Strange 60 is so much easier to set up.

I purchased one from Dr diff with the true trac and the big Ford ends for upgrades, great to deal with and product is great as well.
