Wow that's a lot of valve lift for a street engine? I wonder how tough it will be on valve springs? Sounds like it's going to be a beast! Order rear tires now!  :)
I only have 235/50-17 on the back now. Thinking about the Nitto NT-05. Any comments?
I wanted the offset shackle kit but I gather it is not compatible with the Hotchkis leaf springs so 275/40-18 might be my max

I don't think the spring know/care where they are as far as offsets go. You do need to weld on a new spring mount on the housing to do it though. I have a B-Body width housing , offset shackle kit and have 18x11 rims with a 5.5" backspacing with 295/40/18 tires ( Falken AZENIS RT615K) I'm quite happy with the street performance of them. No drag strips around me to go to.

OK,I picked up my car and brought it home at last. Couldn't get an accurate dyno reading for full power because grip on the rollers was limited. The converter is a 3500 stall and power comes on real strong when you open the secondaries on the carb and the converter flares to stall. Driving sedately is no problem though. It is very loud (love it )and very fast ( love it ). No chance for the tires in 1st or 2nd with full throttle....I am yet to try full throttle in 3rd. The reverse manual VB in the Cope Racing trans is miraculously smooth and quick. I would recommend his work. Car is sitting lowish ( 600mm front wheel arch 620 rear ) and cant get in and out of my driveway without some 8x2 planks down to help...

RUNCHARGER

That's sounding pretty positive. Never can have too much torque.

Update.
I have driven about 100 miles on new engine and am very impressed. Full throttle burns tires any gear. Gotta love it. I have borrowed a Camber/ Caster gauge and have spent a few day trying to adjust the UCA's. The hardest part is making sure car height is correct and every thing level. I removed sway bar and slackened torsion bar adjusting bolts which made it easier. Reckon I am about 5.9 deg caster and 1.5 deg neg camber both sides. I have an oil leak from the rear of the oil pump ( the tuning shop adjusted the oil pressure - it was too high - maybe the leak is related to that...?)

Chryco Psycho

Fantastic , looks killer too
there is a plug on the rear of the pump to change the spring / pressure , it could be leaking there

gravyboy

Thanks. And yes that's definitely where the oil is coming from. I can't seem to find a way to get a spanner on it. Any hints?

gravyboy

Oops. Just broke a torsion bar adjuster trying to raise the car a fraction without taking weight off  :-[
At least I can get a replacement here in NZ. The car dropped onto the bumpstops ( and me ). Looks mean like that!

Chryco Psycho

Be careful , you have to take the weight off before adjusting the T bars , I hope you are Ok
should be able to get a socket onto the cap on the oil pump

Oil relief valve normally is a 5/8" square.....  So either a wrench or an eight point socket....  A twelve point will work but a 5/8" is to small, I think an 18MM fits....

RUNCHARGER

Yes: It can be tricky to get in there. I always adjust the T-bars with weight on them. I oil the adjusters and have at it with a swing bar, give her a few bounces and try it again.

Looking real good and sounding like it runs like a lesser short-tailed bat out of hell.   I think you are going to have to share a video with us. :bradsthumb:

gravyboy

I will take a video at some stage....

The head on the relief valve plug is apparently 15/16". I will have to buy one. VERY hard to get at. Socket won't go on in a million years...

mopar thunder

Really nice set up and a beautiful car. When you take a video post it up, would love to hear it!

Sounds awesome, glad it's working well. I love to bump the throttle in 2nd gear at 3k  :wowzers:

I have the NT-05's on my car. I really like the dry handling. They are not the best in the wet though.
