My 70 383 engine in my 73 challenger has a bunch of old school performance upgrades such as an early Holley carb, and a Holley street dominator intake manifold.
I'm replacing the valve cover gaskets and the aluminum valve covers are super heavy duty, and old.
I'm curious if anyone can help me out with a maker on these valve covers; the only marks I can find are on the inside; "Chrysler" and "779".

Sorry no clue , Holley / Mickey Thompson & others all look similar but usually have the brand cast on top .
These covers can be difficult to work with , the head rail where the gasket sits is never flat & the covers cannot flex to match the irregular shape of the heads so they often leak , tightening the bolts can cause the corners to snap off also ! You will need a thick & soft gasket to seal , the other problem is using normal valve cover bolts the heads are often too large to get a wrench or socket onto the bolt head which is why you had the T style long bolts holding them on , , an Allen head bolt is you best bet for a shorter bolt type .

Unfortunately a few of the long bolts had snapped which is where they were leaking

That sucks can you get the broken studs out ?

fireguyfire

Yeah; enough was there to get them out easily with vice grips
