Which model of oil pan valid for my big block 440

It is certain, but if I buy a new part, I prefer choosing the quality part such as copy 971 of Moroso at SUMMIT.

Not sure why you think a Moroso oil pan is such a quality part, I've never been impressed with Moroso's products and Milidon's oil pans are a much higher quality part but are overkill for your application. :alan2cents:

I've been using this exact oil pan for the last 3 years and it has worked perfectly...I replaced a beat up, leaking Moroso oil pan with it when I rebuilt the 440 Six Pack engine in my wife's car. My engine builder was very impressed with the fit and finish of the Summit oil pan.

I validate the oil pan you have been using for 3 years.

Having several pieces to order, all at SUMMIT, I will order at home.

For us in France, transport is very expensive, that's why the ideal is to order everything from the same supplier. :dunno:

I have a 402 on my a body and have had a 402 on an e body. 
I didn't realize that was not the stock number for the e body.

I think the 402 is correct for a 383 E-body but I might be wrong on that. The 440's used the big pan and it is a really good idea.

1970-'71 E-body:
383 2bbl, 383 4bbl & 383HP = "402" oil pan

440HP, 440+6, HEMI = "HEMI" oil pan (K-frame also had a "skid" plate to protect the deeper pan)

:thinking: "402" would hit the idler arm in an A-body - the C-body "187" with "idler arm DIVOT" is usually found in a big-block transplant A-body (the big-block A-body pan is currently reproduced)

Correct.  However My buddy and I did this to the pan back before the internet days. Couldn't find anything that would work so we did this to the pan.  It's still working. 
  and this is on a small block K frame as well.

I don't know the difference betwin a 383 and a 440 (about oil pan).  :dunno:

I remember when Neil recommended the 6 quart BB Milodon pan for my 440.

Think I got it from Mancini's, has worked great and with it painted it looks like it belongs!

I've ordered/used two (the original and first pan got dented through my stupidity) of the 6 quart pans from 440 source and have not problem with them whatsoever.  Good quality and they seal up great. For the price and factory look I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I received my new oil pan but I am not sure it's the good model (Summit model or 440 source / One of my pictures), I think it's like a 402.

While trying to take ribs (Really not easy with the cuda on jake stand), I'm afraid that the front of the Summit oil pan will not pass to the K-member front.

The width and length appear to be the same on both models (for a 440).

Before painting, I will dismount the old oil pan (971) and try to mount the new one (Summit model).

The front of the 402 is much longer than the 971 (the one currently installed).

I have a cuda 70 with a 73 engine (picture engine number).
