70 RT Wiper Motor...School Me

[7E-Bodies]

Pictured here is the wiper motor that came off of my 70 Challenger RT project. My two questions are in decoding and who is recommended for restoration? Any help appreciated.

I'd guess it's original. Any info on the codes?

It's the correct 1970-71 E Body three speed wiper motor part number ending in "077" with a date of 293 day of 1969 or Monday October 20th 1969 by vender code 7280

As Alan just said...Correct for E body , this particular one would be appropriate for a 1970 built around between  November 1969 and  January 1970.

@SF-Resto and @anlauto yep, this car has a SPD of 11/4/69, so that's the original.

Kim at Passion for Mopars helped me out quite a bit on several wiper motors and great customer service, but that was 7 or 8 years ago.  I've heard some bad stories in recent years with Passion for Mopars, I think Kim may have had some health problems or family health problems she was dealing with, and let things slip with her business. Hopefully she has got things back on track, I don't know, but I'd be nervous now using her now.

Good to know. I'm starting to line up all of my peripheral items (rim blow wheel, master cylinder, starter, Carter carburetor, etc) for detailed restoration and need to make a decision on this. A friend out east used a guy on Facebook named Topher McGinnis and the pictured results looked amazing, but I'd still be nervous.

Bruce Somer (located in California) restored mine; and I highly recommend him.  Turn around time was about 1 month, cost was $238 after shipping.  Bruce's website has more details on his restoration process: http://www.ns1aar.com/

You also cant go wrong choosing Stephan Fournier (I have used Stephan for my hood safety latch and hood release; and they are amazing)!
