Saw this posted on another forum, this is going to make it harder to restore a lot of rusty projects out there

I got the email this morning at 9:40am.  50% discount on selected parts.  They just pulled it.  I called it in and got the discount.   :veryexcited:

Won't be long until some of those parts will command NOS prices.

I saw this too. Is the economy starting to show signs of a slow down or are the cars getting harder to find. I don't know but it hurts just a little bit to consider it either way.

I'm willing to bet that it's all about cost control.  Why make a hood with and without hood pin holes?  Why sell quarter skins when you sell the whole quarter as well?  Other products may be going away from lack of demand.  Like non cut out rear valences.  Most people want the cut outs.  The demand for the non cut outs may be not enough to support the costs.

And there are others still out there making parts like Goodmark.  While they may not have the same quality, they will still be available.
Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

We are probably OK still with E body availability, but was AMD the only source for some of the A and B body sheetmetal being discontinued?
On the subject of availability, with China largely shut down with coronavirus, when does this start causing us to find some things in short supply here because they are only made there?  I thought I heard iPhones are already in short supply. If this continues, the shelves of places like Walmart might be pretty empty soon!
My daily driver's front brakes are likely getting close to needing replacement with close to 90K miles on them, and figured I'd be doing them this spring or summer, so I logged into Rock Autos website last weekend and ordered up a set of Centric premium rotors and pads for it just in case brake parts are in short supply in a few months. (Using E bodies.orgs 5% code of course!)  My 09 Challenger is due for a battery and could use a set of tires soon too, I wonder if I should grab those sooner rather than later too.
And trying to think of anything else I might need soon that is made in China, I would rather not buy anything from there, but sadly a lot of things seem to only be made there now.  :pullinghair:

AMD has really been getting into the Ford stuff the last year or so and bigger into GM as well. Can't blame them for going for a bigger market but they'll discover that their prices won't pass muster with the cheap Ford and GM guys. Being in the biz for a couple of years I can tell you the Ford guys shuffle their feet and look at the ground before pulling out more than $100 for a new fender and the GM guys will cross the street to save 25 cents as well. Mopar guys want the best part they can buy and accept the cost.
AMD could sell more 66-67 Satellite quarter panels than they could 69 Fairlane quarters at half the cost.

Called AMD directly this morning (Wednesday) to order a trunk spare tire hold down bracket for the trunk.  Part is listed on their discounted/discontinued list. Before I even requested a specific part from the list, the woman told me that the discount was no longer in effect and that they had too many orders to process as the reason.
I said I was viewing the discount list from YESTERDAY and she indicated the sale was over.
"In one day", I replied?   :pullinghair:
She gave me the 50% discount on the trunk spare bracket.

I was thinking of ordering a Challenger rallye hood; not sure why they are discontinuing that?
Anyway: Call directly, it may help if you need anything on the list.

What a bunch of BS. They can't tell us they didn't see this happening. Too my orders to process? WTF?

That's what I get for not jumping on it.....

They only list the rallye hood with the hood pin holes as discontinued.  The rally without them is still available.

This is going to make it harder to pick up a decent project for a decent price now
