I believe, in Canada you have to be a citizen to vote. Which takes, I think, 5 years. Not just show a piece of gov't ID?
It would make sense that only those with American citizenship could vote in the USA?    Or am I crazy?
When I went in to vote in the last election all that was required was a drivers licence and 1 piece of mail with the same address as your drivers licence. When I questioned this on how this proves your a citizen I got the deer in the headlight look and a reply of oh I never thought of that.....
That is to make sure you are who you say you are on the voters list, which is a list of eligible Canadian citizens. They still have to match your name up with the electorate list.

That's what I thought also but not true. If your name was not on the voters list all you needed to vote was a drivers licence and 1 piece of mail with the same address as your drivers licence, then fill out a voters registration ,sign your name and away you go vote.   I posted on Facebook about this on election day and was surprised about how many others ran into the same issue.  I made a bit of a stink about this to my local constituents office and they said they would look into it after agreeing there was a loophole.

Here in California they aren't even allowed to ask for ID......    I made it very clear I wasn't impressed...

So, in cali I can just walk into any voting place and just vote with no mention of who I am?
Why wouldn't I just go to every poling location I could find and just vote for who I wanted?

the Anti-American disgust that pours from that state is profound.

They are coming here and have turned my state Blue.  But I know very few blues that live here.

Too late, Calif has already been issuing drivers licenses to illegal immigrants for awhile now.

Unfortunately there is an endangered list of moderates in both parties now. We are screwed as the debt piles up to a crescendoing crash.

In the state of New York, As of today Illegal immigrants can get drivers licenses!  And all you need to register to vote is a drivers license.       So governor Cuomo has given the liberals permanent political power in the socialist state of New York!  :verymad:   California will now have to fallow suit.  :Stirring:

Go to SF you can poo & pee in the street...

Openly use drugs... shoot up in public...

Stealing under $950 is a misdemeanor (look up prop 47).

But they banned plastic straws.  :dunno:

weed doesn't cause damage to people like alcohol.
weed doesn't cause damage to people like cigarettes.
weed doesn't cause damage like a list of thousands of drugs you can go get from a doctor.

Weed does help children with major seizure issues. with little to no known side effects.
I grew medically and got to see first hand how it helps children.
I can see the benefits of marijuana.  They far outweigh the detriments.
I see first hand how our legalizing weed has stopped an influx of marijuana from Mexico.
Now it's in our hands and not those who wish us harm.  The use of herbicides and pesticides is harmful.

I'm not a  blue or red.  I'm somewhere in the middle known as a constitutionalist.

Weed has indeed been made a blue thing and hated by the red guys.

However, the blues have indeed become an American Hate group.
I care for my brothers and sisters and do not subscribe to the hate that is being preached.

:pokeeye: As an American I reserve the right to poke back.   :pokeeye:

To have alcohol and cigarettes legal but not pot is ridiculous, the stereotype of someone who smokes pot is just that, not everyone who smokes it lives in their parents basement eating Cheetos all day. Of course the medical benefits are finally starting to be recognized which is also a good thing.

I've seen more who fit the stereotype than not... I'm not a big fan of alcohol or tobacco either....

I went to San Francisco this summer for the Metallica S&M show.  (awesome show).  My wife and I had a great time in San Fran.  There were bums, but they were really localized in the tenderloin area of San Fran.
We didn't see any open drug use.  But of course we stayed off the few streets that are known to have those problems.  We had to drive through them to get to our hotel so we got the gist of it.  We really did see family folks walking through lines of bums on those streets and the bums didn't seem to be bothering any of the families or business types.
All in all, I would say San Francisco is not as bad as I have heard about it for a long time.

I wouldn't live there, but a great place to visit.  (with money)

We sent to San Jose, saw one small bum living quarters right off the interstate.  none to speak of other than that.
