I bought a new 60 gallon, 2 stage from Quincy 6 years ago and love it.  It was a little more than most but well worth it.  Don't see a need to ever replace it.

I bought a Kobalt 80 gal. from a guy that decided to paint cars, that didnt last long. Got it for $300, like new. Does everything I need, blast cabinet is the largest consumer I have.

:wrenching: I had a 60 gal. Husky 220v and used it to paint cars and never had any issues with it. Ended up selling it because of my military moves. It was still in great shape when I sold it.

As some one said earlier, depends on your needs.  I currently have a belt driven Sanborn and it's been fine for the last 15 years.  If I were to buy a compressor today, I would look at California Air Tools.  They have a QUIET compressor.  Mine is out in the open in the garage so noise can be an issue or nuisance.  The belt drive is not bad with noise, but these California compressors better with noise and don't seem all that expensive.  You can order them through HDepot.
