70 sport fury GT  V code

I've been looking for one of these cars for years and years.

Wasn't there a guy on Mofarts that had three of them he was trying to sell ? A yellow one and two black ones ? (projects) :thinking:

The owner of the B7 blue restored one, Dave Wheeler, was just here the other day....he was telling me how he bought his out of a NY junk yard for $85.00 :o

  I don't spend much time on moparts.  just to look through the e body parts.  I'll have to go and search it.  thanks

The Chrysler 300 Letter cars (first series); the last one produced was the 1963 300 J.  It is pretty rare with only 400 made.  Hardtops only,

Why do you think they only made Hardtops?    My dad bought a 64 K Convertible with the long rams in 64 ....  Had it till 73... Bought it n Alaska , drove it all around the world...   As in down the Alcan Hwy, down to San Antonio Texas... From Texas to Kansas... From Kansas to California...   From California to New Jersey...  Put it on a ship & picked it up in Rota Spain.... Drove it through Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy... Put it on a ship & picked it up in Istanbul Turkey....  Drove it around Turkey eventually leaving it in Adana Turkey.....

Those 70 Sport Fury GT's are pretty slick. They have pretty clean styling for a big car and the HP options were great as well.

Interesting; so Hagerty's information is incorrect.  I looked at the BJ Scottsdale Auction results for 2007, and no 4 door sedan Coronet was listed .
What's the story? Was the red one sold privately post the auction?
Curious.

This was the information on Hagerty's site review;

Street Hemi production peaked in 1966 with more than 3300 cars built, according to Allpar.com. That year Dodge even built two Hemi-powered Dodge Coronet four-door sedans and both cars survive today, one red and one white. Both were built with the Torqueflite automatic, and both were reportedly special orders for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for towing and field operations.

"The red car sold at Barrett-Jackson's 2007 Scottsdale auction for $660,000, while the white car has spent time in the ownership and museum of drag racing legend "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. Both cars are equipped with the dual-quad Hemi, Sure-Grip 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 gears, four wheel drum brakes, and a front sway bar. Dodge also installed a station wagon radiator shroud and a heavy-duty battery. Despite the four-door body style, creature comforts were minimal; the cars do not have power steering, power brakes, or power windows, and no Hemi car was ever built with factory air conditioning."

the auctions are a big game "experience" "lifestyle event" - you better know what game is being played before you participate  :takemymoney:

the owner of the red car wanted/was expecting 7-figures ($1M+) for the red car - it was a "buy-back" & sold after the auction for significantly less $$$
